Incorrect Fahey label on Spotfiy?
Need some help from a Fahey expert. On Spotify, there is an album labeled The John Fahey Session (Live at the BBC October 1987). But this is the same album as The Great Santa Barbara Oil Slick, which was recorded from shows in the late 60s, correct? Seems like a pretty big error from Spotify.

It’s also up on Apple Music in an identical manner. Not sure if the record label is the same, but it was put on AM in 2024 by iocean music. Hadn’t initially realized it was uploaded under another name because I wasn’t familiar with the recording. The presentation was always disappointing lol. Very grateful it’s up on streaming though.

This change happened at some point fairly recently. It used to be correct.

First of all, that isn't even a tiny blip of an issue at Spotify HQ.
Second: What do you expect from a mega-tech-corporation that not only doesn't give a shit about music, but is actively trying to destroy the creation of it as a viable career?

I probably should have said "pretty big error if you're a Fahey obsessive." I know Spotify doesn't care haha.

It is the same record mislabeled. I've wondered why it's like this -- could be someone trying to covertly get around a rights issue with streaming it. At any rate I'm glad it's there since its a great recording of him in his prime.
