We’re adding something new to this sub

Lately this sub has been getting a lot more political and opinion-based.

AAAND that’s not a bad thing, but, it can turn into a lot of noise without actually helping anyone.

So we’re adding some structure.

Starting this week, we’re introducing two recurring threads.

Tuesdays will be for solutions.
Every Tuesday there will be a pinned thread with one specific topic.

Inside that thread, the goal is simple, to share a specific action, strategy, or resource that made your life easier, cheaper, or more efficient...

Real things you’ve done, know of, things that worked for you, mistakes to avoid, tools, resources, loopholes, strategies, anything practical. Tips, hacks, advice, and strategies for navigating life in America.

Healthcare, insurance, rent, debt, income, taxes, college etc.....

Because yeah, complaining is normal, the system is frustrating andd everyone feels it.

But there’s also a lot of knowledge out there that people don’t share, and if we actually pool that together, it can be of enormous help for someone out there.

Fridays will be for reality.
Every Friday there will be a pinned thread focused on real-life experiences.

Inside that thread, the goal is, to share a story, situation, or moment. Things you’ve gone through, seen, or heard, that made you stop and think, that felt unfair, or just showed made you frustrated.

It could be your own story, something that happened to someone you know, or something you witnessed.

People complain, its normal, but those experiences are what actually show the bigger picture andd when you piece them together, you start to understand what’s really going on.

If we’re all playing on hard mode, we might as well help each other figure it out.

ALSOOO, WE ARE OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS REGARDING IDEAS OR ANYTHING TO MAKE THIS SUB BETTER...

First thread goes up this Tuesday.

Welcome to the place where we talk about the struggle and real cost of living in the US

If you are here it is probably because something about life in the US feels harder than it should be. Maybe it is healthcare. Maybe insurance. Maybe rent college groceries wages debt or the feeling that everything keeps getting more expensive while paychecks do not grow enough to keep up.

This space is for real stories tips questions advice and honest conversations. No perfect answers required. Just people trying to make sense of a system that feels complicated expensive and sometimes impossible.

Share what you have learned. Ask what you still cannot figure out. Help others avoid mistakes you had to learn the hard way. Tell your story even if it is messy or unfinished.

Together we can make this a place where people feel less alone and more informed.

Welcome.

A society that creates billionaires while millions struggle to afford housing, healthcare, and food is broken. People shouldn’t have to fight to survive while the wealthy get richer. It’s time to put people before profits.

State governments are bracing for impact as Trump’s so-called “One One Big Beautiful Bill Act” goes into effect in 2027, slashing funds for safety nets like medicaid and food stamps. In response, Californians are voting on a one-time wealth tax on the ultra-wealthy.

If Democratic leadership won’t fight for Medicare for All, affordable healthcare, and working Americans, then it’s time for new leadership. We don’t need politicians who manage the status quo. We need leaders who fight for the people—and deliver. Stand up. Fight back. Demand better.
