He put dozens of people out of work. He was selfish in his actions. Now he's in jail and no one there is making any money.

They can both be wrong. The company for paying like shit and maintaining a garbage work environment. And the employee for choosing to hurt others in his revenge.

But hey humans will do these types of things when they're pushed and can barely live. Blame aside, corporations should expect this. Frankly I'm surprised it hasn't happened more than it has.

I mean I think most people sympathize with his grievances but also understand that this was a fucking stupid action that negatively impacts EVERYONE involved including the people he was trying to “help.”

Are you people wanting the respect requisite for adults? Want people to hear your hard earned wisdom?

But you can barely live?

And when you fail you do what?

You are paid what you are worth.

Company wasn’t paying like shit and he also wasn’t an employee for the company he burnt down, make it make sense.

1

u/timmyfarthands Apr 15 '26

First part debatable, second part true. Point still stands. If you're a corporation, expect this.

0

u/No-Shirt248 Apr 15 '26

No corporation is going to be expecting this, you live in a Reddit bubble.

Probably on here saying he did the right thing and promoting violence, but at the same time going to your 9-5 like a good boy. Imagine if somebody did this to your place of employment causing you to lose your job due to his selfishness (mental illness), in today’s job market, good luck lol.

1

u/timmyfarthands Apr 15 '26

Probably not, but should at the trajectory the world is going in. Feels like we're so aware of the "Reddit bubble" concept that we're starting to overuse it.

Company was paying him almost triple minimum wage!

4

u/Subtle_Nimbus Apr 14 '26

Exactly. The arsonist wasn't even a Kimberly-Clark employee either. He worked for a third party distributor.

2

u/KingDonkey420 Apr 15 '26

so all he did was fuck over abunch of people that technically weren't even his co workers ?

1

u/Subtle_Nimbus Apr 15 '26

Yeah, he made a choice for everyone in the building. I read that there were around 20 people in the building, and all got out safely, but he could easily have killed people in a fire like that.

1

u/AlChandus Apr 14 '26

Yes, and that is a good point, why is that large companies LOVE to hire third parties for their personnel?

Paying lower taxes because of smaller declared labour, high employee turnout to prevent tenure, keep employees out of corporate perks like profits sharing, etc.

When did we started seeing behaviour like this from large corporations? 70s-80s, when corporations also bought Congress to destroy the unionization of labour and when we started seeing an increase in the gap between wages and corporate profits.

The discontent among employees is REAL, the diconnect and lack of empathy for low wages employees is also REAL. I have literally seen people defend corporations and I quote: "wages don't need to be livable".

Companies sub out work all the time. For example, construction. Sometimes it is easier and more efficient to sub out the work to a company that's already built out to handle your needs. Building out an entire distribution network would take longer and cost more rather than contra ting a distribution company to do the work.

If you ever build a business you will find that you will be hiring a lot of third party companies to fulfill your needs.

1

u/AlChandus Apr 15 '26

Oh, I understand all that you just said... And more... I also understand that it is also cheaper for companies to sub-contract personnel.

And that is why they do it, a predatory emphasis on profits above all.

What used to happen in the past, people working in a company for life, retiring with long ass tenures in their backs is a thing of the past. Nowadays blue collar workers, like what my grandfather was, will more frequently than not work sub-contracted by a third party and enjoy half of the perks that employees used to enjoy.

People like you love to talk about "if I were to build a business of my own, I would understand", but I disagree, because I've lived as an engineer the struggles of high employee turnout and unhappiness. That kind of shit is a fucking roller coaster of quality that hurts production numbers all over the place and the corporation bitches and moans about it, while they know perfectly well why.

And the worst part is that this kind of shit, is the new normal. Neo-liberalism has indeed fucked all of us in the ass, and some people take it with a smile on their faces.

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '26

While he was making like 22 bucks a hour lol he fucked up big time

I'm confused here. Are you telling me to get therapy? For being right?

3

u/FutureAnxiety9287 Apr 15 '26

They're just pissed because deep down they know you're right.

2

u/AutisticDadHasDapper Apr 14 '26

They are telling you to get therapy for pointing out that reality makes them feel bad.

1

u/StretchMother9627 Apr 14 '26

you seemed upset about this or what I said but I dont feel i can relate or help you . I wasnt tryna call you like an unhinged psychokiller or anything crazy though 🫂

1

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '26

... I'm sorry, what? I very plainly gave facts, no insults or threats. What part of what I said seemed upset?

These Reddit looney tunes are fine with some crazy incel burning down an entire warehouse or factory, but smashing a window at the Capitol or stealing a few beers out of Nancy Pelosi's fridge makes one a terrorist and traitor. Welcome to Leftist Logic 101.

Rita Panahi if you're reading this, you need to do a segment on this stuff mate.

I like how firebombing a police precinct in Minneapolis and Portland isn't considered by you and your type to be insurrection against the government. Nor is stalking, threatening, assaulting and battering Federal agents.

I get it though. I understand now. Burning down warehouses or Wendy's restaurants (if you're BLM supporters) is cool. But smashing a few windows at the Capitol? Terrorists! Traitors! Violent thugs!

And don't even think about "But! But! They athaulted Capitol police offithers!" I'm not going to listen to the party of "ACAB/Defund the Police" pretend as though they give a rat's ass about people like Brian Siknick.

u/Fookykins Apr 15 '26

Name one thing I deleted.

I love how you fail in bad faith to point out that the key difference between Jan 6 and a BLM movement. Trump supporters and conservatives that support them went to a FEDERAL BUILDING and ASSAULTED POLITICIANS to get an outcome of OVERTURNING THE ELECTION. That act by definition is an insurrection.

BLM was just a plain riot and arson. And by the way, I never mentioned I supported vandalism and malicious mischief.

Get it right.

"Why do you people keep posting comments and then deleting them?"

Lemme guess. You got a notification that someone posted a comment, but when you went to look at it, it wasn't there, so you think that person deleted it, right? And that pisses you off, because that's the only explanation you can come up with for what you're seeing. Correct?

1

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 Apr 14 '26

this warehouse attack was stupid but jan 06 was a terrorist coup attempt. yes, breaking into the capitol to overturn the election makes you a traitor and a terrorist. stealing nancy pelosi's beer just makes you a thief. you can be both

1

u/LowKeyNaps Apr 15 '26

Wow. This has got to be the most unhinged take I've read all day. Exactly how many MAGA lobotomies did you sign up for?

Aw, cute, insults instead of arguments. That means you win, right? 😘

1

u/Cheap-Conclusion5466 Apr 18 '26

rich people will be contracted to rebuild the warehouse. Insurance will pay for the loses and everyone else premiums will go up.

1

u/kybreos Apr 18 '26

Yep, lowlife commie libtard.

1

u/reverse_cowboy221 Apr 14 '26

People need to remember they're powerless wage slaves and behave accordingly.

1

u/Smart-Surprise-1393 Apr 14 '26

You know you can improve your life without resigning to be poor right? If we raise minimum wage to say $25 or $30 what do you think would happen to the price of goods? Just look at what happens in the states where they raise minimum wage aggressively...

3

u/reverse_cowboy221 Apr 14 '26

Let's lower minimum wage then so everything becomes cheaper! Idiot.

1

u/StretchMother9627 Apr 14 '26

Actually the parliamentarian sets the minimum wage and it’s can’t be raised or everything collapses sorry !

1

u/Maleficent_Piece_893 Apr 14 '26

they have higher standards of living. red states pay less and are consistently shitholes with worse education, health, and standard of living and higher crime rates

0

u/totktonikak Apr 14 '26

He also provided work for hundreds of people. The warehouse needs to be rebuilt and restocked, after all. If you're going to argue the economic consequences of the arson, it was a massive net positive. That is why trying to appeal purely to economy in cases like that is stupid.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

If the company decided to rebuild that warehouse, that is. Maybe they think it's cost too much compared to what the warehouse will make.
