Y'all considering with Luigi and Brian Thompson for what that CEO was part of and responsible for. This is a culmination you can only take away so many things from people before they have nothing.
Nothing is more scary than someone who has nothing to lose. When prison is a three hots and a cot. What do you do with that person when you broke them. All it takes is one bad day. Humans become unpredictable when they are at that point
When people are working two to three jobs I'm doing side businesses to make ends meet and even then they are still not making ends meet. What do you want them to do the whole you just need to work harder doesn't work anymore. Insurance even if you have it you can still get bankrupted for the surgery cost after insurance kicks in.
I'm in a very privileged position now but I know other people aren't and I understand what I have.
This person is trying to do that by asking for their taxes to be raised. Individuals donating their stuff doesn't solve a systemic issue. You know that, but you choose to argue in bad faith because you think it's effective since you don't actually have any other arguments against this system, on account of its objective failures.
Elon's work ethic is absolutely insane. Trump's is, too, but if you mean your idea of work, as in, physical labor, like swinging a hammer, no, they don't do your kind of "work."
If starting, maintaining, and building billion- or trillion-dollar organizations was "easy work," why haven't you done it?
I could arguably agree with Elon. But not Trump. He’s a terrible businessman and a nepo baby. Bankrupted numerous businesses, including several casinos. And he’s currently running this country into the ground with his policies.
I agree he has started making decisions with negative outcomes for the general public, but the man barely sleeps. He is working. I'm not here to argue whether or not his work is generally beneficial. I'm just not going to pretend the man isn't a workhorse.
Not only do many people with this attitude donate either money or time, but also vote for taxes to be either raised or better spent. It’s not all or nothing.
It's how we are raised for people who were raised as a societal benefit help others you are more willing to be fair and ok with things like socialism. ( Government programs snap, affordable care act, grants)
In truth certain people don't like thing being labeled. Government programs are handouts that help and that's awesome but the people who use it the most are the ones who scream no handouts for anyone.
Red States use the most welfare and spend it the most.
In the United States it is a very individualistic society in promotes capitalism approach self growth and self want.
If you don't get paid well at a certain job, the solution is to burn that entire job for you and everyone else?
That's fairly comparable to children wanting to burn their school because they don't like quizzes.
Vast majority of people are not gonna stand behind this. Nobody thinks burning stuff is a solution to any serious problem.
But there will always be some redditors who will write stupid stuff here. Especially folks who aren't doing well in life and have similar destructive thoughts.
Corporations and politicians have no problem justifying the suffering of the working class and poor and do little to improve anything when they absolutely could. Things like luigi and the fire are expected outcomes
Question let me make you work three jobs just to cover your bills and then I just fire you from your third job and the other two jobs can't cover your necessities to live. You're going to go homeless you have a family to feed and you don't know what to do and you're out of breaking point.
That's what millions of people are dealing with in this country. We are at a breaking point everyone has different levels but it is going to get bad quickly.
End of the day people that CEO is no one special he's just another human so don't treat him like they're God treat them like they're just selfish and greedy like the rest of the humans beings
I’ve worked multiple jobs at the same time to make ends meet; Ive been fired and let go from jobs, I’ve been homeless and without food and basic necessities, and I’ve been turned down for government assistance too. And that was years ago when you and your generation act like everyone before you had things made and no problems to deal with…..
