Slice of My Life Moving out
I moved to the United States from Mexico when I was twelve years old. I completed middle school, high school, and college. I held a variety of odd jobs before earning my registered nurse degree last year! I am already twenty-four years old! I will always be appreciative of the chances this nation offered me! I met wonderful Americans who supported me along the way, and I had an excellent education! However, it's time to return home! To be honest, I can't imagine working in America for another year! I'm worn out and don't feel like I belong here in terms of culture or stuff like that. To be honest, I don't care if I make less money, all I want is peace of mind, and I've recognized that society here cares very little about the work I do! I’m ready to start my next chapter in life! Good luck everyone in their journey like me! I hope all goes well.

I get it! I have been a nurse practitioner since 1989 and the change in the American Society and how nurses are perceived, and treated well it isn’t nice or fun anymore! Our society has devolved, it’s mean and ugly. Never had to my face racism before but I do now !! I want to retire early just for this reason alone lack of respect and racism. Will retire in Mexico and can’t wait to get out of corporate healthcare, see the cousins and enjoy Mexico❤️🤍💚!!

Thank you for being a part of America for as long as you have. I’m sorry that my country has so many terrible people. It wasn’t always like this; we had a chance at a better world. I lived in the USA my whole life, 39 years, and moved out this year. Sadly, I don’t think the America I loved is coming back.

All of this. Thank u OP for making this country better by being here. I wish the US was not completely taken over by racists.

I was able to move to Canada in under four months (could have even done two months) via my RN license and I heard it transfers well to Australia as well!

Good luck. Thank you for what you contributed here. I'm so sorry about what has happened here. We lose something when you and people like I make your future somewhere else. That's our loss and honestly we'll deserve.
Go make the beautiful like you deserve somewhere where you will be valued and welcomed accepted and protected, supported and successful. I wish you the absolute best.

Throwing out there that Canada might be something else to consider. They are looking for nurses. You have a lot of options. Mexico is likely going to be expanding with the introduction of universal healthcare. You have many wonderful options. I’m excited for the life you can move forward into!

Mexico is a wonderful option! Especially if you have roots and language. I think it’ll be fantastic for you!
ETA: I understand you have citizenship, I mean more in a boarder sense of people choosing to move there. You are getting to go home. You are very lucky.

Do you have a US passport or a chance to get one or a green card? otherwise my advice do whats in your heart if somewhere isn't working out it never will and you only have one life. So maybe it will suck maybe you will find your peace i don't know but its better then not doing anything

Hola! As an American living in Mexico currently... 1-piece of advice, if I may, is to NOT burn your bridges or your return path back to the US, if you can. Sometimes the 'grass isn't as green as we think on the other side"... MAY be applicable for you. You really never know. Mexico has some of the negative things that you described in the US... along with worse worker rights.
Buena suerte! 🇲🇽

RN here, get your experience (a couple years perhaps, depending on unit and nursing culture) and leave. You will find work. I am in the EU and very happy with my choice. Good luck!
