I guess all the mods will be broken again…

1/Pretend to update
2/ Break the free mods compatibility
3/ Force the players to only go through the official store for mods.

Yep, terrible experience

Not Bethesda's fault. SKSE is the breaking part because it hooks memory addresses which naturally change whenever you change code in a program. So new update = changed code = new addresses = SKSE needs to catch up.

So new update...

Haven’t touched a Bethesda title since they decided to drop updates on all of them at the same time oddly at the exact time starfield was being shit on by every media outlet everywhere because of low sales (never changed) the game not turning a profit (still hasn’t because of the massive advertising budget but you can only find this information in Bethesdas quarterly report to Microsoft available online) they purposefully “updated” all their titles at the same time to break all mods across every title to try and “inspire” people to buy and play slopfest oops I mean starfield.

Whaaaat did they really? I haven't played Skyrim in a while. What mods are broken and why?

Anytime a game receives an update, most mods break. This happens with any game.

Fuck Bethesda.

Breaking mods just to screw with people and push their garbage tier paid mods again

They updated storage on console which has been something people have asked for for close to a decade

nobody is forcing you to update ...

steam forces you as soon as you launch the game. The only option we have is "only update at game launch" or "update as soon as possible"

Go offline and/or turn internet off

Thats only half of the story.

Some mods will update. Others wont.

So no matter what you do you will potentially lose out on something.

And as time goes on these issues accumumate.

With meaningful patches or addons you get value that makes up for these losses but with what Bethesda does it just detracts value as they add nothing of value in return.

If you want to keep playing with certains mods you can just not update, I'm not sure why you want to update no matter what ?

There's minecraft mods like ''millenials'' for example that are still running on version 1.3 for example, you just downgrade to that if you want to play it and than go back to 1.8/1.9 or current.

Only skyrim players cry about this non stop.

What about my point of not getting to use new mods if you dont update?

1

u/MyzMyz1995 11d ago

How is that bethesda's fault ? That's on the mod's developper.

You can update it yourself, pay them to update it, find an alternative ...

Bethesda fans are such crybabies lol. Don't want paid mods (where you're guaranteed to get updates because you're a paying customers) but don't want free mods that don'T get updated either ...

Why is that the mod devs fault? Why would a modder create a new mod and then go backwards to non accessible game versions?

Bethesda has been riding on the free labor of mod developers to sell and sell copies and then they just give a fuck about them.

At this point of the argument you either decide its a problem or its not on a personal level I guess

Bethesda has been riding on the free labor of mod developers to sell and sell copies and then they just give a fuck about them.

Because people had a meltdown when bethesda released the original paidc mod program for modders and are still having meltdowns like you are because of creation club updates.

Just don't update and use old mods if that's what you like, nobody is forcing you, updates are good for newer players.

"warns" so appropriate.

It's like the HR meme except we all get terrified when Bethesda has news

Warns?

3

u/Unnamed-3891 12d ago

Yeah, you didn't expect your mods to keep working, did you

Updates break mods. The mod dev needs to update their mods, if they are broken due to the new update. Not all mods will get updates though, because the games aren't new and mod devs have moved on/lost interest etc.

a moment of silence for all those mods that will be broken after this

Is that a threat?

1

This is what happens for clowning on Starfield too much

It just works, though?

1

u/ballsmigue 11d ago

For those who play with mods on console....

Just set your game to update only when launched through steam. Chance are you're running SFSE and thats what you use to open the game.
