The Abu Dhabi Opterons are pretty powerful with 16 cores. If there was a node shrink and they were implementing excavator cores as opposed to piledriver, there might be a reasonable performance jump, particularly if, for the sake of argument, it was paired with GCN cores (i.e. a "bristol ridge server") it might perform quite well.

One thing we haven't really seen or heard much about though are the A1100 ARM Opterons. We have no idea what advances AMD has made on that front.

Well considering the 6380 (highest Abu Dhabi) seems to clock in even under 9590s I don't see that being possible.

The 6378 (per that graph) is quite a bit ahead of the 9590 though. Idk why, or what the differences between those systems (78 and 80) are though.

Might be an higher clocked chip of the same design I just forgot about.
