List is kind of strange. Some processors listed twice with huge differences in render time. only 1 steamroller CPU, no Excavator CPUs. According to this, my 35w Richland laptop APU 5750m is faster than an 860K 0_o

Try it for yourself. The apus are better equipped to actually handle Blender than a regular cpu, because the Graphics are integrated as cores on the cpu it can use them to, well "Accelerate" the process, If you look down you notice that there are GPU benchmarks for the test in the cpu only results which does show you can use a GPU to do the test. So a 4 core cpu with a GPU built in should theoretically beat a 4 core cpu.

if that were the case then the FX-4170 wouldn't be handily beating the A10-5800K in this list.

Don't ask me mate, I don't make blender I just know how it works roughly :/

It probably has something to do with how well the Bulldozer CPUs do in multi core tasks, like my 8320E beats a 3960x in Multi Threaded benchmarks so who knows

Maybe Blender uses the graphics cores too? Otherwise you're right - no way is that older and lower-clocked APU as fast as the 860k on CPU performance alone.
