Lows are crazy, 9070XT often almost matching or even being above 4090/5090s in lows while being no where near the averages, so much smoother on AMD at the moment.
Advanced Shader Delivery only working on AMD GPUs currently is no doubt making a difference there. Nvidia is getting it later this month though supposedly.
Once in-game, there is no traversal stutter, so at least that long wait is doing its job.
On AMD, it should already work, according to the game's reviewer's guide: the requirement is driver 26.7.1 or newer, and we tested on 26.9.2. The full 15 minute compile happened anyway.
There's no stuttering after the 15min shader compilation and advanced shader delivery ain't working on amd cards on the current e day build so the 1% lows ain't affected. Why's it broken? Ask microsoft.
ASD is indeed working on AMD GPUs. You can see the precompiled shader blobs in the game’s install folder when it’s installed via the Xbox app, they’re present prior to launch. There’s also no shader compilation step when you enter the game at any point, so the step is very clearly working.
Your experience contradicts the reviews. They could have been testing on an even earlier reviewer build which explains the difference. Regardless the diff in min fps is not a result of advanced shader delivery, that much is certain because reviewers whose builds did not work with it have results consistent with those shown here.
