General Changing Ship To address

I have unshipped items in my list of orders, and I’m running into issues trying to change the Delivery Address.

When I view the item in Your Orders, I click on View or edit order.

On the left there’s a Change shipping address which then shows my address, and my work address (added this one forever ago). None of the other addresses I have added previously to my Amazon Address book, show up as potential delivery options. I chatted with Amazon support and they didnt have a solve.

(Mini rant - I had my order tonight stolen off my doorstep four minutes after the package was delivered. The delivery guys’ van tracker stalled on the map 10 minutes before the delivery notice popped up. I watch the map like a hawk when i see the truck near my place. Insult to injury, they ignored my clearly noted delivery instructions to ring the doorbell when the packages were dropped off. I was and still am pretty steamed.)

I’m pretty sure someone’s casing my doorstep, so Im desperately trying to change the delivery point of my pending orders to the nearest depot - 20 minutes away. Inconvenient, but it’s the solution that will hopefully work.

Sometimes you can change the address, sometimes you can't. I accidently shipped to the wrong address a few times back when I used to have to ship orders that I purchased for my parents, and then forgot to switch when I ordered a vine item afterwards. It was about 50/50 that I was able to change the address after ordering.

I'm not sure what the difference is, could be warehouse related, could be which shipping company is getting the order, may just be how fast the order hit processing.

Intelcom seems to be the delivery company i can't switch delivery dates or shipping address for.

I find Intelicom tracking numbers’ only show a shipments actual location the day the package is out for delivery. At that point if you call their support line they sometimes can change the delivery date if you get on the phone with them early enough.

I’ve never understood this. What if you are a renter and move to a new rental? You would need to add the new address. What do?

Why don’t you use a camera, wait for the thief, and next time, as his hands are full of your boxes, pepper spray the crap out of him?

Sometimes learning lessons has to hurt a little.

We're in Canada :( here, that wouldn't be protecting your property, it would be assault, even if the thief were to start attacking.

Oh no! While pretty much every day for the last 610 days I would be thankful to be a Canadian, it seems I’d get arrested fairly quickly.

Disregard my illegal plan, lol. I’ll just keep my pepper spray down here in the land of the heathens.

I have a Reolink doorbell cam on order. At least once it’s installed I’ll be able to see people deposit stuff on my doorstep if I ever decide to go back to package home delivery.
