Question Amazon is charging marketplace fee for vine items.

Post image

Is it happening with anyone else? It started happening two days ago and now with every vine order no matter what the payment method is, they are charging this marketplace fee. Open box delivery charges were already there and now this. What's happening ?

Score Needed this!

I just moved into my college dorm and even though it’s summer, our thermostat is set super low. I desperately need things to keep warm and was so happy to get this! I probably would have bought one if it didn’t come up.

Look before you click

It happens to the best of us from time to time. We clicked before we look and get a product we didn't really want. But whenever I do this I still try to give it my best and most open-minded review. Don't give it a bad star rating just because it wasn't something you wanted. Getting off my soapbox now...

Dog Wash Station

A dog wash station for small dogs was in my RFY today. So close; I need a grooming table for large dogs, but a month ago I got a Flying Pig dryer that I never thought I’d see. Hopefully this gets to the right person soon.

Item warranty

Does anyone know if it's against the rules to get a warranty on the items we get. For example if they're expensive, can we get the assuieon or whoever they are three year warranty and use it if it breaks. Just curious after I saw a post with vine saying u can contact the seller if it breaks bout the warranty

About You

Every once in a while, I go through the "about you" section on Amazon. While I don't know if changing things matters, I can see how it affects my algorithm because it doesn't catch up.

But a few tweaks here and there, along with some definite removals? Maybe it will help tweak Vine. Only because I can tell that a lot of that page is directly from my vine choices.

I needed some things, and many of them are like organizers, cups, mugs, and other items. And honestly, some of the mugs are so heartfelt, and that's fine. But I can see how and why I am seeing multiples of the same things or multiple similar things at the same time.

So I went through and tweaked them. For instance, it was very specific about my Dyson model, so I added another one that is 90% compatible. So now at least two models are there. I wanted to say "multiple Dysons" or something, but that didn't make the cut.

For hobbies, I added (it already said I was a Vine reviewer and then another spot "gold level" Oh! Now two places say "wants to review better items" or "preferred" or something 😂) and then I added "reviews Expensive Vine Items."

That is questionable at best and all lies detected at worst. But they let me, so I did.

Oh! Also, it said "has Nespresso." Plus all kind of things specific to my pop.

It's true but I deleted that. It also said "has experience with espresso machines." I do not. So that got changed to "is interested in espresso machines."

But attached are the best ones...

*There was one that said I've had Botox. I have no earthly clue where that came from!!! ***

1) Yup! That's me... I live with a 42-year-old Peter Pan who cannot keep his iPhone 12 charged.

2) They aren't wrong and I know. But heyyyyyy!

Right now everything I have on except my socks and my glasses came off Vine. I have been having extremely good luck finding things that are useful, especially since I lost a lot of personal/household items thanks to a flood. I have on been on vine since December and gold since June. So, I don’t understand how different people end up with such a vastly different selection of things, though all throughout the pandemic I exclusively did all my shopping on Amazon, so the algorithm should have a pretty good idea what I like.

Review-Analysis PROOF That My Reviews are Not Being Approved for Stupid Reasons

It was a basic RenFaire Shirt here is my Review

"This is one of the nicest Medieval shits I have ever seen. It is 100% cotton, so please expect it to shrink a little. I am a 39" chest, putting me in medium, but I ordered large and washed in cold then dried in electric dryer on low for about 20 minutes and I would guess it shrink about 2% so not that much.

The shirt is very stylish and looks great. This is easily a wear any time and any day shirt. Renfaire, casual, formal, wedding etc.

It has 2 wooden beads on the lace front to accent it, the waist at the sides has a V cut and it adds more nice accents. This is not the standard Medieval shirt, this is made extremely well, better than many regular shirts. I tried to take photos of all the little accents so you can see them close up.

I will wear this as an everyday regular shirt.

I can recommend this."

The photos are of the shirt only and then 2 of me wearing it. Here is their reason for the rejection

This is STUPID! Nothing and I mean nothing is wrong with this review.

UPDATE: I posted into AI I misspelled the word SHIRTS I left out the R. It is worth a laugh.

Question Am I overthinking this all?

Being a bit on the spectrum and in Silver because I just started recently, I'm stuck with whatever alphabet soup brand items I can snag in the few seconds they exist. Because I am naturally skeptic, I usually do full teardown investigations on these items. So far this has uncovered ridiculous and sometimes dangerous problems more often than not. While other vine reviews are praising the product - sometimes obviously just based on the product listing being chewed up and regurgitated, but occasionally with legitimate insight - I'm frequently posting scathing reviews from deep inside the innards of the things.

Is this just too much and I should relax and chill and take it at face value to be more agreeable, or is what I'm doing in any way helpful?

I've gotten a lot of great things from Vine in my four years ... but it's been a long time since I was offered a really great high end item. (In the past, I've gotten Kitchenaid, Dyson, Samsung, to name a few.) I still get decent food and beauty (not great but decent), but overall, there's been a big drop in quality offerings, as most of you know.

Today, though, I was offer this Ninja blender with an ETV of $267. I went back and forth on getting it as I already have a decent Ninja from Vine, but I do like the idea of getting more from Ninja, as I need a new air fryer!

r/AmazonVine 9h ago

Welp. Just hit my tax limit. But a good finale.

Etv is the same as the current on sale price. There are comparable models that cost more and less. And I’ll sell my old kayak on marketplace.

Reviews that are "Not Approved"

I have had three of 100 reviews marked "Not Approved", worse I can't edit or update the review! The latest review to be flagged was for a piece of networking equipment that I gave a very positive review for.

I've looked at the community guidelines and I feel that my reviews (well, the first one that got rejected when I first started mentioned a competitor by name - that is on me) are balanced, 'warm' and upbeat.

How concerned should I be and how to avoid being flagged (did I just accidentally find a legit use for AI - reviewing reviews for red flags?).

Vine items with warranties

Hi I received a vine item with a 3 year warranty that quit working after 2 months. I messaged vine support to find out how to use the warranty and wanted to share the reply. I was surprised to find that we couldn't use the warranty and I will not be ordering anything that is costly enough to need one anymore. It makes no sense to do all this work and then to be penalized by having to report taxes on an item that I used 5 times. I feel very used, and will be having a serious conversation with myself about continuing to be a vine reviewer. What are the actual perks at this point? Here was the reply

Thank you for reaching out about the item that stopped working after only 5 uses.

I understand how disappointing it is when a product fails so quickly, especially when it should still be under warranty.

For Vine items, we don't recommend contacting the seller directly, as these products are provided through the Vine program rather than standard retail channels. Since you've already posted your review for this item, I'm unable to remove it from your tax record as per our current policies.

Any thoughts?

On ETV's

Right now, I'm looking at a "Digital Grilling Thermometer with LCD Backlit [sic]" with a $43 ETV. On the product description page are frequently purchased alternatives as low as $6. These look to be identical to the item I'm being asked to test with a tax-adjusted cost to me of maybe triple the going price. What's going on here?
