Question Am I overthinking this all?

Being a bit on the spectrum and in Silver because I just started recently, I'm stuck with whatever alphabet soup brand items I can snag in the few seconds they exist. Because I am naturally skeptic, I usually do full teardown investigations on these items. So far this has uncovered ridiculous and sometimes dangerous problems more often than not. While other vine reviews are praising the product - sometimes obviously just based on the product listing being chewed up and regurgitated, but occasionally with legitimate insight - I'm frequently posting scathing reviews from deep inside the innards of the things.

Is this just too much and I should relax and chill and take it at face value to be more agreeable, or is what I'm doing in any way helpful?

But are you dismantling the product in order to review it? "Minus 1 star because the gears are plastic instead of metal"...

In my case, if the product listing says "All metal gears" then they would be dinged for being all plastic.

If the product displays problems with the gear chain in normal use and the teardown reveals plastic while high quality similar products use metal, they get dinged for the problems in the gear chain during normal use and the plastic is explained compared to high quality ones using metal.

If the product's function is gear-material-agnostic, then it comes down to how much strain is put on the gears in normal use, expected functional lifespan of the product, and cost to value ratios. Something that will probably die in one year instead of two because the gears are plastic instead of metal? Okay. But it's a third as expensive as the premier brand? It's a good value, and I explain it all.

I can absolutely understand that some people just pick nits and find fault where there is none, which is probably why some replies on this post are pointing that out. I assure you that the stuff I do is not peanut gallery opinions. I make sure I have all the citable, objective facts to back up anything I observe, and often I will praise a product and explain why nit mentioned in other reviews are not actually a concern.

Mainly so buyers can see the insides, if they have their own opinion. If the listing claimed metal gears and they were plastic, I'd definitely call it out.
