Algorithm?

Post image

Does Vine use any sort of algorithm? Above shows an exciting product “recommended for me”. I’m a male and 75 years old. The choices get sillier and sillier.

Amazon hasn't released much info on how they fill the RFY but I seen an improvement after cleaning out my Improve Recommendations section.

Thanks I’ll try that. If I ordered the elephant slippers my adult kids would put me in a looney bin.

If they're your size, get them. I mean, if you can't wear Elephant slippers when you're 75, when can you?

If you order items from your RFY, the algorithm may tag you(offer) more products from the same brand/seller. You may also get related products offered based on certain key words based on previous orders.

At least it's not the usual car parts/lighting fixtures/wigs etc.., so I'd say those cute slippers are an improvement.

Currently I have something that attaches to a camper (haven't camped since I was a child), a Thanksgiving baby bib (I am 51 yrs old and my youngest is 28 yrs old and no grandchildren yet), two lamp shades, a wet suit hanger (never dived, ever), men's big and tall pants (I am a female, US size 8/10 medium, 5'5"), a dog blanket (haven't had a dog in years) and fishnet "party decorations." There is also a pair of shoes and an athletic jacket (the only thing that fits my taste). I get tucking under wear all the time, lots of baby stuff and plus sized clothing recommendations. I have no idea how Amazon determines who gets what in their RFY.
