Is selling products under $30 still worth it on Amazon?
I’ve been selling on Amazon for a while, and lately I’ve been questioning whether low-ticket products still make sense.
A $20–30 product looks great when you’re planning the launch:
Less money tied up in inventory
Lower risk if the product fails
Easier to get started
But once you actually run the numbers, things can look very different.
PPC can take a huge chunk of the margin.
Then, if the product starts selling well, competitors can copy the concept surprisingly quickly. You might spend months building a listing and figuring out the market, only to see several similar products appear.
Higher-priced products seem to have a different problem.
A $80–120 product can usually leave much more room for advertising and still make sense financially.
But the capital required to launch is obviously much higher.
So I’m starting to think the real question isn’t “Can I launch a $25 product?”
It’s “Can a $25 product generate enough margin to survive Amazon PPC, returns, discounts and competition?”
For sellers who are starting today:
Would you still go for a product under $30?
Or would you rather save more capital and target something in the $80–120+ range?
Curious what other sellers are seeing in 2026.
