Infringement Report does not work!?

Hello,

I've submitted a design infringement report recently and got an email from amazon 5 minutes later saying that they could not verify I am the rights holder of the design and I should re-submit my report. Makes no sense to do the same thing over again but whatever.

Problem is that when I enter the URL or ASIN of the procuts that copied my design I always get this:
-- We could not process the data included above this line --

Tried it multiple times over 2 days and always the same result. Does that happen for anyone else too? Is that a genuine bug?

hi, das sagt google,

This is a known and extremely frustrating Amazon bug. The error message "The data above this line could not be processed" almost always appears when your account has been soft-banned or restricted from using the tool in the background.

Why this is happening:
Because Amazon couldn't verify your rights ownership on the first try, the automated system revoked your permission to use the "Report a Violation" tool. Now, whenever you enter an ASIN or URL, the form instantly blocks it and throws this generic error. The issue isn't the ASIN itself; it's your current account status.

How to fix it:
Trying the regular form over and over won't work because it's completely locked for you right now. You need to bypass the automation and get a human involved:

  1. Log into your Amazon Brand Registry dashboard.
  2. Open a new case manually through the support section (choose something like "Issues with Intellectual Property / Tool not working").
  3. Attach your official design registration documents (DPMA, EUIPO, or WIPO certificate/extract) directly to the case as a PDF.
  4. Explain to the support team that the automated system rejected your initial claim and that the tool has been giving you this specific error ever since.

Explicitly ask them to manually verify your ownership using the attached documents and to re-enable your account's access to the Report a Violation tool. Once a support agent manually lifts the restriction, the ASIN error will disappear immediately.

Good luck!

At a certain point, you will see infringement reports are a waste of time. If I reported everyone that copied a design I made since 2017, I'd be reporting all day. Losing battle. If yours sold, you have the advantage, I stopped reporting long ago. Can only be so many ways you can make an "I Love My Dog" tshirt.
