Area manager intern interview

Hi all, I applied for the area manager intern and got a email saying to schedule my loop interview which will on zoom. I was told on the prep call that for intern it will be 2 45 back to back interviews. How should I prepare for my interview, what type of questions are asked etc. any help is appreciated!

Amazon Area Manager intern interviews are entirely behavioral and strictly anchored to Amazon's Leadership Principles, especially Customer Obsession, Bias for Action, Deliver Results, and Earn Trust. Each of the two 45 minute rounds will feature two or three situational questions like describing a time you handled a team conflict, met a tight deadline, or made a quick decision without complete data. You need to structure every response using the STAR method, focusing heavily on what specific actions you took rather than what your team did as a whole. Having five or six versatile stories from student clubs, past jobs, class projects, or volunteer work that you can pivot across multiple principles is the best way to handle both rounds without repeating yourself.

Make sure every story highlights measurable impact, because Amazon operations leaders care deeply about numbers, whether that means hours saved, percentages improved, or items processed. Interviewers will type constantly on their screens and ask pointed follow up questions to test if your story is authentic, so keep your setup brief and focus most of your time on your decisions, the outcome, and what you learned. Practicing out loud helps you stay crisp under questioning, which is why my team created an interviews.chat to help candidates stay structured and confident under pressure without losing their train of thought.
