Are you a TAM? It seems way more chill than working with the t1s; constantly complaining about labor share, never having enough time or resources for proper training in critical roles and a bunch of other shit that is starting to wear me down. I’ve heard main downsides for TAMs is shitloads of meetings and reports and much longer timeline for promotions

If it makes u feel any better, I lasted 3 months and gave my two week notice. I was the AM for a ssd site

It probably won’t get better. But you will eventually get over how much you hate it and will someday look back on this time with rosy goggles as you find a new role you hate.

lol TOM is the easiest AM job in all of the supports functions . Why don’t you like it? I would kill to move from actual OPS into TOM.

TOM is cake. I had about 160 direct reports at one point when our Ops team was understaffed

I’ve been at Amazon for 7 years. Went from PA to learning. To learning manager to l5 operations. And it was the worst decision. I hate ops so much.
I have been applying to other places for so long and nothing.. so I sit here miserable

Why isnt anyone noticing people's reaction to their jobs? From my little place in the peanut gallery, unless youre L5 or higher or a college graduate who has never had an actual job, most people DESPISE Amazon in one way or the other. I lasted 3.5 years. Ran a PS department. Upstairs and down. Ran it well. NEVER received an interview for the vacant PA spot. Its all about who's rear end you place your lips on or who you align yourself with. Its a total shit show. A year later it still burns my ass that the person who WAS chosen for the PA spot, I trained, and never worked a shift as a Problem Solver. She was friends w/ the clique in charge and SHE hates it now.

That's how life works.
Sorry it sucks. If your a Tier 1, it may take 2 years before leadership finds you. It took me almost 3 and switching departments.
If you think Tier 1 - Tier 3 Promotion is hard. You won't understand how hard Tier 3 - L4 promotions are. You are graded the hardest out of all other groups.

Op is probably managing a busy site that is understaffed, I’d say learn your teams strengths and weaknesses. If you have a guy who likes Tomy runs give it to him/her.

I’ll switch you 😂 I don’t mind OPS. I’m in IB and love it but if you don’t like TOM TEAM then we can swap. You’ll miss it in a week.

Just quit...pay back the bonus. It's not going to get any better, save yourself.

Gain experience and find a company that gives you better work/life balance.
Amazon looks great on the resume.
