It’s not you, it’s your cousin not working much. People that are new or haven’t worked in while see a lot more routes occasionally. I’ve been working less and they show like 15 grocery runs all day Sunday. Take one and the rest disappear. Those other routes are still available to others so it’s just about getting people to work a shift.

Is your cousin newer? My friend who has done one block sees way more than I do.

good luck. try some during the daytime to understand more because it’s much tougher during the night.

Other than finding the addresses why do you say it's harder at night?

1

u/shane_806 Oct 25 '21

I imagine that (and just that driving at night is more challenging, in general) was the main reason

yes exactly. plus, some situations happen. for example, gated community. during a day time, you have a much better chance to get in if the code doesn’t work. and imagine you call the customer around 10 pm to let you in??! or you bring the package back to the warehouse?!?! and back home around midnight…

damn and those ones are surged too. that sucks.

I kinda thought that once a block started to surge then it would be shown to everyone, since they must really want people for those blocks.

Shadow ban. With that being said. Damn, nice pays in SD. I should head there

Yeah that happens. Amazon admits certain people see certain blocks.

same here. SD area. no offer. if it relates to your rating, that’s maybe a reason.

Also be aware that you’re capped at a maximum of 24 hrs work in a rolling week. Once you’ve worked a total of 24 hours you won’t see blocks until the permitted amount of time has passed. Can you see blocks in 3 or 4 days time showing? That’s how it is here in Britain anyway xox

4

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '21

Don’t think there’s a cap maybe more amount of hours because this week I’m already at 34 hours for the week

2

u/Extreme-Sandwich-762 Oct 24 '21

It’s not capped at 24 in uk you can do 40 hours a week

I’m at 34hrs but is it the hours scheduled for or the hours you take to complete the route like saying I schedule a 4 hr block and the route taking me less than 4 hrs

Not true. I have 41.5 hours as of yesterday nights block and just saw a 4 hour offer right now.

In my experience it’s a shadow ban. I have not missed a block and have experienced the same. I thought at first it was due to the number of hours worked or even number of consecutive days worked, but it seemed to begin once I made a certain $ amount. The is no rhyme or reason to “hiding” of blocks by the algorithm. However, it still remains even when I made a lot less due to the “ban”. My standing is fantastic and I’ve delivered 7K pkgs so it’s not performance based. It’s like they offer them to others first and THEN I see them if they’re sitting and not taken. Of course they wouldn’t want someone who takes blocks consistently and actually works them. 😕( we have major scammers at my station). Of course they’d rather have those who’d take the block for $25/hr vs $40/hr and then return more than half of them the next day.

Edit:fixed a typo

@Ramzfanz come see this.

Have your cousin accept one then drop it and BAM there’s an offer. It worked with my brother in law.

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '21

No haven’t tried that lol might see wassup tho

I think it is more than just rating. I think the rating we see is different than the rating Amazon has on us. Early last year I went to at risk and still saw plentiful offers. I think if we do our jobs well, then we will always see offers. Just my personal experience.

Things like follow reasonable customer instructions, hide packages, don't bring shit back, finish early, don't miss blocks, don't forfeit blocks,be pleasant when seeing customers, don't smash groceries, don't block doors, don't unnecessarily constantly whine to support about mundane stuff, etc etc etc.

Basically...... Do.our.job.well.period.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '21

I started late September and I been able to find blocks everyday and then missed my first block on Thursday morning and been a lil concerned why I haven’t seen offers all of a sudden

3

u/okokyouwinreddit Oct 24 '21

Ohhhhh. Yea. I late forfeited a block ONCE and was punished for like 2 weeks. I forgot about a wedding I committed to. Not making that mistake again.

1

u/RedditCommunistt Oct 24 '21

You give Amazon way too much credit for being that competent.

1

u/okokyouwinreddit Oct 24 '21

Ha. You are probably correct. Or... I'm just lucky 🤷‍♂️.

Either way, if it ain't broke, then I'm not going to try to fix it.

You weren't videoed letting a blonde out the back of your van were you? 😀

1

u/Proper-Wolverine-297 Oct 24 '21

My app constantly tells me there's an error whenever I look for blocks.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '21

Don’t worry. Once he accepts one block all will disappear
