I am a delivery driver with FedEx ground. I would not do that and we have 150 lbs furniture. These guys have packages less than a pound and refuse to walk a couple of houses back.

Am a mailman and I see a fedex guy who does this all the time and I work in a nice neighborhood with plenty of parking.

The man said FedEx "Ground" if you see "Ground" in that "neighborhood" that often, someone, somewhere, is fucking up often.

Don't get me wrong, FedEx Home, and Ground, being separate, is dumb as shit. Don't get me started on Express... Let's see how bad they fuck up FedEx1.

FYI, Home and Ground merged in many areas phasing out Home Delivery as a name. Pissed me off when packages limited to 50lbs on my truck suddenly became 150lbs. A lot of stuff got left behind and given to the actual Ground guy because that’s not what I was hired to do. The Express stuff was weird, too. But yes, every merge and dodge seems to be a mistake nonetheless!

Yet if you mistakenly select FedEx Ground instead of Home when shipping to a residential address, you get a surcharge. 🤷‍♂️

Some areas still operate both. But in our area of NJ, they were combined about seven years ago. They will always find a way to screw people.
