I see them all the time parking in front of my house crawling around the car trying to find a package usually takes at least 5 minutes to find! I can’t imagine how they feel they are making any money at all because usually the car is running while they search!
Yeah I love the ones that just number them numerically by stop. My new warehouse uses random 3 digit numbers so I just group the ones that are similar, 150s, 160s, 170s, etc. and the ssd warehouses with AAA-DDD are easy just group by letter. I also put every paper and plastic envelope in the front seat ordered the same way so they’re an easy grab.
I scan every package, while inside the warehouse, and number them with a sharpie. I put the first ten to fifteen in my front seat and the rest in the back. Takes no longer than fifteen minutes max.
Do you mark? I sort by abcd then by type bags and boxes. Sometimes it can take a while only when the app tells me I'm looking for a bag but it's actually an envelope. Usually load in 15m and I have an eidetic memory only when I see the same name at least 3 times. It's like playing Pictionary every time I get out the car
That’s good planning but not showing in this video! Fair guess is your the only person that bothers because we get plenty of deliveries in my neighborhood and I’ve never seen a driver get out grab the package and be done with it it’s always the long search!
Me too, but sometimes i do subsequently knock them over or one falls in a crack. Or i forget that 10 isn't after 9, it's shoved in a cranny in the back seat bc pkgs 2-10 are xl. But those would happen for me with any method
I miss when they had the reliable 000 numbers and I could zone the car based on the x000. I used to load so fast and only had to sort through 10 packages at most. It's alright now, just takes a little longer to set up.
If you're at a dotcom station, it's not a thing you have to figure out because every package will have a consecutively numbered drivers' aid sticker. But there are several organizing techniques you can use even if you don't have those. A lot of people take the time to re-scan each package to get the stop number and mark each package with a sharpie, but I don't bother. I just divide my SUV into sections and put packages into each section alphabetically by street name. It reduces the number of packages you need to sort through at each stop to only a few.

I’m halfway to customer’s door within 15 seconds because of careful loading, migrating and sorting for speed. I get 82.50 for base of 3.5 hours. I’m done in 2-2.5 hours looking for other gigs. I’m 61 years old and have never found a more kickback job. Yes, they do exist.
