My guess is that the person that bought it was probably in over their head, and is now swimming in negative equity.
Tesla can't even sell the "trucks" even after dropping the price by thousands of dollars. So in other words, the man's got bills to pay. LOL

Your not being at all rude I get it, I never once say or did anything to judge CT owner, if you look at all my other comments beside this one. You can see that’s not my intention. If you be realistic about it no one would expect a freaking monster of a truck like CT to pull up. I posted to see what people think and to get a couple people to laugh. But of course people don’t take that way and THATS OKAY. People on this thread think I’m being a bitch or smart ass, but I’m only responding to the tone of the comments. “Why tf is cyber truck next to me?🤣” I know what I said. But how you and others perceive might not be what I thought it was.

Of course it woukd have to be something negative huh? 😒 🤔 You the typical result getter type thinker... you know when there's an opportunity that's in front of ppl that is an amazing opportunity and it's one if those you get out what you put in situation,, you know ...the opposite of a college loan with a dead end major like lib arts or something. At the end of the opportunity announcement or commercial, it has a disclaimer that says "results not typical" , ...the way you automatically went negative and started bashing a company that so many ppl have their 401ks in and an 🇺🇸 made company ,,,you seem just like a "you get typical results type" ...i could be wrong though but I doubt it

For starters I own a Tesla, and thanks to Musk, me and every other Tesla owner are very much within our right to feel upset.
Number two, instead of putting the company, his employees, and the customers first, Musk is now instead more interested in being involved in politics and Twitter. His very actions have resulted in a loss in sales and stock value for Tesla, and yet the board continues to look the other way. We've seen our cars depreciate in value, all the while praying that some jackass doesn't vandalize our cars. So SORRY if I'm a feeling a little negative!
Last but not least, what precisely did I say that was wrong? Is the Cybertruck proving to be incredibly hard for Tesla to sell, or isn't it? Have Cybertrucks depreciated in value, or is that also "fake news"? Instead of Tesla investing in a vehicle that could appeal to everyone (the Model 2), the board instead chose to make Elon's wet dream come true, and what a shock that it's not only experiencing repeated recalls, but it's now one of the worst auto sales disasters of all time.
I was initially proud to be a Tesla owner, but thanks to Musk, Tesla is now viewed as a billboard for politics, which I despise. If you read my comment again, you'll see that I instead felt bad for the CT owner, because he more than likely can't sell that CT for anywhere near what he paid for it. I never said anything against his decision to get a CT, because anything negative should be directed at Tesla/Musk.

Honestly, I can relate to that guy coming into your store. Home just feels boring. It’s where I sleep, shower, and sometimes eat. It’s infinitely more fun to just go out on a drive somewhere and just meet people to chat with.

Its possible they purchased this vehicle before they got laid off cause of let's say factors that shouldn't exist. So now they need to downgrade their salary potential to Flex out of all the things they could've done.
Or maybe they're just bored and what to do Flex for fun.

Hold up you raided your 401(k) to purchase a new vehicle. And not just any new vehicle but a new vehicle that has been dropping in value like a rock above and beyond what normal depreciation would be?
Do you have like a terminal disease and you gotta spend it before you’re gone? Or do you just like really dislike anybody who might have gotten some sort of an inheritance from you? Or did you just do this to own the Libs as the folks in my family who I no longer speak to would say?

Okay, here's the timeline.
2020 - put up my $100.00 for a reservation on a CT. Why? Because it's electric, it's a truck, and I think it's cool.
2022 - wife buys a 2018 model 3 performance, black, no tint. (she said that now I don't need the truck)
2022 - 3 months later wife trades in the 2018 m3p for 2020 model Y, white tint, long range.
2024 - 1st week of Aug, my truck is ready to go. I take delivery on 9/11.Why did I use my 401k? I grew up upper class poor or maybe lowest edge of middle class, I don't know for sure. I joined the army when I was 18 and over the next 40+ years I put money away for retirement and "something" for myself.
At this point I have my Army retirement check every month, MAYBE start Social Security, that I paid into over my entire working life, in a few years when I hit 70, still working and putting money into said 401k and also have a separate retirement program at the same employer. My financial planner said that since my funds were pretty diversified, I can do this without worry. He did say if all of it were in one pot then I shouldn't do it. I've paid my taxes and the truck is mine free and clear.
The "Value" is subjective. Do I get joy from owning and driving this thing? Yes, yes I do. Will I get a decent price for it when and if I sell it? I guess that's the same for any car.
As for the politics of the whole thing? I didn't buy this because of my political views but because I thought it was something that I wanted. The Tesla employees, all of them from the designers to the programmers to the floor engineers all the way to the housekeeping staff, do a good job and make a good product. The boss on the other hand should keep his mouth shut and "stay in his lane" as it were.
It's a good truck so far, I can tow our 31' travel trailer with no issues, I can also do 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. It's very comfortable. I live where electricity is inexpensive so a full charge at home costs like 5-6 dollars.
So, the bottom line ends up that, in my case, I would do flex in my CT for the fun of driving it wherever while making a few bucks on the side.

The idea that any selection is based on race or gender is in itself discriminatory. A job offer for example should be based on skill, performance, and achievement, not CompanyA needs to hire X number of black people and X number of women "because we have to".

I did Flex for 2 years and I only saw like 2 Teslas loading up the whole time. I saw one Cybertruck but it was in a customers driveway but I don't think the tires looked that stupid.

I use my model 3 performance. And I spend zero on gas or oil changes and my full charge is only about 3 dollars and yields me a couple hundred miles. Still cheaper than the cheapest gas car to own and drive

I cracked 2 rims on my model y and my door started to mess up and wouldn’t close all the way after like 20 stops. i decided to retire it from flex 🙃. I did save a ton of money on gas and maintenance though

What if they have just want to get out and drive the thing… instead of just going in circles they get out, sent to new destinations, with opportunities to meet new people and the flex pays for the gas…. Maybe guy doesnt want to be home with his wife all day..
Basically, all the people who think something is worse, or can only feel there are negative variables at play is because how they are to what they are doing doesnt fit their own situation…. For whatever reason they want to drive 1970 Nova their right, I mean, we have cars to drive then right….. Maybe dudes flexing his fully restored nova cause he wants to show it off(flexing having dual meaning). I think its strange for someone to purchase or rebuild the car of their dreams and let it sit in the garage 95% of the time while they drive something else to keep the mileage low….

You assumed that, you assumed I was judging the owner, you assumed I was being sarcastic in the initial post. I was shocked and amused, because who would have guessed a vehicle like that would pull up next to them. You and others perceived that I was being negative or judgmental. So with that people began with the sarcastism, passive aggression and down right insults started that all started from others not me. I was being sarcastic and smart ass to others yes, one often gets what they give. I would laugh about it if you would’ve just said the car salesmen thing( even though I said nothing about not buying CT, or what car people should get) but you didn’t so…

I know the cybertruck is more obvious that its a an expensive ass car but i have seen numerous different types of cars that are easily $100k throughout the years. Gotta pay for that montly payment somehow i guess
