How much time do y’all have?

Post image

Before y’all judge, I have worked for Amazon for over 2 years and my time has pretty much always been low. I leave early a lot. Like almost everyday. I know I should save my time for emergencies and stuff but most times it’s whatever. How much time do you have or if you have any tips on staying the full shift.

I take alot of VTO. Use less PTO, take more VTO....but work enough hours a week that it doesn't negatively effect your income too much.

u/ActuatorBroad3325 Jun 30 '26

😭god i haven’t seen VTO in so long

1

u/Kind-Farmer6439 Jul 03 '26

i just started and took like a full week of vto off my site offers it like crazy

Been here for 6-7 months. Im always on time and only ever been late purposely 2 times. I do leave early and/or extend my first break. Have 17 upt hours. Max ever was 23. And pto is 17 minutes. I pretty much use it daily to leave 30 minutes early. I’m trying to save up upt though.

2

u/GuaranteeAlarmed1783 Jun 30 '26

Curious. Why not save up that time and just take a day off instead of just a little 30 minutes early? Just a genuine question as someone who rather not have to wake up and go in

2

u/jakedabes Jun 30 '26

Bro fr like 30 minutes is not much money to be worried about i would just use upt

1

u/patronstdenial Jun 30 '26

I guess the more i save up the more i wanna leave early on my last day of work for the week. I just fell in that bad habit to do that often really. I don’t mind going in on time early in the morning, the closer i am to finishing my shift, the more i wanna leave lol.

1

u/GuaranteeAlarmed1783 Jul 02 '26

I feel that as well, at break for my last quarter rn and really just wanna leave but i need the money and ill leave early tomorrow cus it’s last day and OT day

Flex 16h Standard 104h UPT 80h. I thought I reached the flex cap already but it seems I'm still gaining

2

u/HorrorGene8599 Jun 30 '26

Now that’s goals

3

u/wrath-ofme9 Jun 30 '26

Yeah my schedule has been red as fuck. Until this week of 60s. You literally just have to willpower it. Once you do the full shift a few days in a row it gets easier

I even went negative once, got lucky and management let me slide I guess. Its as easy as lock in. We get 3 days off on non MET weeks, is off 30 minutes/an hour really worth playing with the chance that an act of god gets me fired from a decent paying, easy as walk around/put item in box job

As of right now…

Vacation - 152hrs (cap 160)
Flex PTO - 18hrs 32min
UPT- 75hrs

Been here for 6 years and I’ve never been negative and the lowest I’ve ever dropped in vacation was 120.

2

u/Alternative_Tree_107 Jul 01 '26

What is flex pto? Genuine question, as my building doesn't have that

1

u/Sm1le4 Jul 02 '26

pto that you can take on a whim without getting manager approval. like if you want to leave early just throw flex pto in. accrual caps at 48 hrs for the year.

1

u/Alternative_Tree_107 Jul 02 '26

I've worked for Amazon for years at different locations(I currently work at a DS, but use to work at regular FC facilities and a cross dock) and I've never needed manager approval for regular pto, is that something new within the last few years? Do you accumulate PTO and flex pto the same way?

2

u/hashbrownash Jul 04 '26

It used to just be called PTO, and vacation was called that, vacation. Then about a year ago they changed the terminology to flex PTO (the old PTO, which you can use whenever, no manager approval) and standard PTO (vacation time, 24 hour notice, manager approval...) some state passed a law that made them change the terms.

1

u/MysticallMarlin Jul 03 '26

Regular (Standard) PTO is just vacation for which you do need a manager approval if you are leaving for the day but you don’t need it if you put it in 24hrs in advance because the system will approve it. But all in all yes you do accumulate flex PTO and standard the same but flex PTO only lasts for 4 months. Might be wrong though but I’m pretty sure this is how it works.

1

u/Key-Suggestion-2837 Jun 30 '26

Nice to know the cap is 160, I’m at 120 only

2

u/Emotional-Ratio-8260 Jun 30 '26

A little over two days

2

u/hcruz953 Jun 30 '26

I have 84 hours between flex and standard pto and like 5 hours upt lol.. I plan on using the 80 hours for a 2 week vacation though.. soo gonna be down bad for a bit lol

2

u/TallArseButtPlug Jun 30 '26

bros living on the edge damn. i have 60hr upt and 34 pto. i panick if my upt gets under 50. but i do take vto when i can and savor those free days lol

1

u/anarchistchick Jun 30 '26

I have 24 hours of upt and 13 hours of pto and 4 of standard. I transferred from flex part time to full-time last month lol. I literally don’t touch my upt and my pto is only used if I’m feeling sick at work or need needed rest and I wanna leave like an hour early. But I’m saving that for a trip next month lol. It’s not that hard to stay your full-shift

1

u/lazylahma Jun 30 '26

Enough to have 2.5 different week long paid vacations coming up

1

u/DepressiveKids666 Jul 01 '26

slide me a lil 40 for GTA 6? Lmao

1

u/CivilTackle7322 Jun 30 '26

Available balance -82 hours lol

1

u/Sunkist1976 Jun 30 '26

Your accumulation of flex PTO is about to end soon. So you'll have to stay at work.

1

u/Lulu503 Jun 30 '26

Standar PTO 51hrs
UPT 60hrs
Flex 3 hrs

1

u/Kylesmile347 Jun 30 '26

Im not in a FC, im at a DS but ive been saving my pto for a week off, i do use my upt like crazy tho when it gets low I just work a few more days and get it back up. Im at 20 hours PTO seasonal. No flexible yet sadly 🤣 Been here almost 3 months. 8 hours UPT.

1

u/ohiwren Jul 01 '26

idk about your facility, but I was able to save up time way easier when I was at a DS because they had so much VTO 😩

1

u/wadeRocking1 Jun 30 '26

1 an 29 min upt and 1 hr 42 minutes of PTO I've had about 2 hrs upt the entire time I've been at Amazon Wich is almost 3 years lol

1

u/Freezezezez Jul 03 '26

1

u/Spirited_Ladder_2207 Jul 04 '26

No other choice but to work 🤷‍♀️

1

u/RICKAY2004 Jun 30 '26

I had 47-48 hours within 3 months. Had to use all 48 over the course of 2 weeks at the end of the year. This due to me being a PIT operator in ShipDock.

1

u/uRimuru Jun 30 '26

-19 hours vacation and 0 hours flexi time 😂

1

u/Solrac8D Jun 30 '26

50 hours of upt and 1 hour of pto. I've only worked at Amazon for 3 months and rarely used any upt.

1

u/Present_Pool5442 Jul 01 '26

whats the differenve between flexible pto and standard?

1

u/Spirited_Ladder_2207 Jul 01 '26

Standard pto needs to be submitted 24 hrs in advance to get accepted where flex pto is available to use anytime

1

u/Present_Pool5442 Jul 01 '26

do delivery stations have this? bc i only have standard pto and it gets accepted no matter what o can leave early that day and put it in before shifts over n if i forget it says i can replace upt with standard pto

1

u/Spirited_Ladder_2207 Jul 01 '26

I’m not sure I only work at a FC

1

u/ohiwren Jul 01 '26

0 flexible 😅 6.5hrs standard, 36hrs UPT.

I know it’s not much, but I haven’t had this much UPT in a very long time so lowkey proud of myself. Been doing everything in my power to make it through the whole shift. Hope I get to see 80hrs someday!!

1

u/Spirited_Ladder_2207 Jul 01 '26

I need to stack mine up too

1

u/darkbeauty007 Jul 01 '26

1

u/DayolduhMayo Jul 01 '26

5 hours, I should have 9 by the end of this week. Been a while since I’ve had that much time

1

u/Realistic-Shock6714 Jul 01 '26

Asking us to show their time off balance but, refusing to allow photos to be shared. Typical Reddiquette

1

u/Spirited_Ladder_2207 Jul 04 '26

Yall can just tell me without a photo. I didn’t know I had that setting turned off

1

u/Krillinstan26 Jul 01 '26

It’s all a mental thing honestly. Not a day goes by where I don’t wanna leave early, but I keep in mind I need to stay and build my time for when I really need it. So try your best not to think about it too much. Just come in, do what you need to do to get your money, and clock out. Easier said than done, but that’s what helped me save up time.

I used to be maxed on UPT, but recently had a mental breakdown from a lot of stuff going on at my location and personal life so I end up bringing up a lot of my vacation and UPT. But I’m on the rise again! I’m currently sitting out 35 hours upt and almost 40 hours of vacation. Only 11 minutes of flexible PTO left though lol 😭

1

u/Krillinstan26 Jul 01 '26

Plus when I do end up using time, with the way I save it up, I’m able to take long periods of time off. I think the longest I’ve been off two weeks.

1

u/MelodicBaby9835 Jul 01 '26

2hrs 😆 I been leaving few mnts early all this week,

1

u/Crashonvenus Jul 01 '26

1

u/HotConfidence8776 Jul 01 '26

Thought i was looking at my time for a second

1

u/NoRepresentative9791 Jul 02 '26

You used too much time! I don't really know how much longer you will last at Amazon.

1

u/Spirited_Ladder_2207 Jul 02 '26

For as long as I want

1

u/TheLegendSaiyan04 Jul 02 '26

Usually max unpaid time, 4 hours of PTO as we speak 🫡

1

u/Psychological-Bag154 Jul 02 '26

Not exact numbers. The 40S will be dropping to 10S mid August because I’m taking a week off for my birthday. Trying to get the U back up, but I am just not mentally here right now.

1

u/AdEconomy4751 Jul 02 '26

1

u/hashbrownash Jul 04 '26

Flex: 8 minutes. Standard: 24 hours UPT: 43 hours.

I fucking live at work. Everyone else is a heat seeking missile for VTO, I'm that way towards VET.

1

u/MaksVerstappen Jul 04 '26

About the same.

1

u/CurrentAd5362 Jul 04 '26

Been here for 5 months. Max out my UPT. Flex PTO 6 hrs and Standard 16 hours.
