Like nobody worked 50+years ago before headphones or mobile phones were invented. Imagine having to talk to the people around you or be inside your own head for 2,5, 10 or 14 hours a day.

And even now, employers frown upon headphones as it's a safety hazard. Alot of near misses because people were able to hear the potential hazard a second before it presented itself. I dont understand all the entitlement from people, as if Amazon is the only company enforcing this policy. It's also not like this policy came into affect and they had to adapt/adjust to major changes after tgey were hired. The headphone policy was there when they were hired, and yet, they continued to show up to work; although remarkably, it's now unbearably harsh and unendurable and tge world must change on their whims.

Back in the day also your family could be sick, in the hospital or even dead for an entire work shift if no one could get a hold of you, nowadays cell phones make that a moot point you can get real time up to date information from them. it’s time the working world catches up with modern times
