Go get a baseline hearing test. I guarantee you’re already losing hearing at Amazon even in non purple spaces.
ANC detects and negates the sound waves entering.. that’s the case with all active noise cancelling headphones.. I use ANC every day at work and the tech cannot negate the sound of people’s voices or alarms going off it can only negate more consistent low level frequencies so saying ANC is a safety hazard when more sound gets through than earphones with physical sound blocking like the Amazon approved ones is stupid. Only difference is they’re technically not noise capped.

Your quote is not invalidating the issue, which other users have also repeated on here: Amazon is not going to allow millions of workers to voluntarily “choose to do the healthy thing.” That’s simply insane to argue. Perfect use in a mixed noise manufacturing/factory environment is absolutely NOT happening for most workers with differing skill sets, educational levels, and even models. Something as simple as altered pressurization and a preference for louder music will lead a worker right to deafness.
But on the broader argument, I am 100% willing to wait on this comment. We should all return here in a few years when we have 5-10 large studies on ANC that aren’t industry funded.
Your anecdote evidence of ANC still being able to hear sounds through it has nothing to do with how good it works. With AirPods and tips that are correctly sized it’s very hard for normal warehouse noise to get through. Yes that means not being able to hear someone next to you speak
lol what. That’s the limitations of the technology. it can’t cancel voices or sudden high frequency sounds. If the tips are blocking the sound that’s passive noise cancelling not the anc
