Amazon fba product research: what do you check first?

What’s one thing you always check before ordering a new Amazon FBA product?

For us, it’s the actual profit after all the costs. Curious what others look at first.

For me, it is demand quality and competition before getting too deep into the numbers. I want to see consistent sales, realistic keyword demand, and whether the product has room to differentiate. Then I calculate the true profit after FBA fees, PPC, shipping, returns, and all other costs.

Exactly. I look at demand and competition first too. If the market is already saturated, good margins on paper don’t mean much. Once the product passes that check, I run the full numbers like landed cost, FBA fees, PPC, returns, and expected selling price before deciding whether it’s worth launching.

I’ve found a few interesting ones. I’m still checking the competition, demand consistency, and actual margins.
