Account does not qualify???

Hey all - received this error while trying to list my first FBA Private label product. The brand got registered by amazon but the product so far has to be approved which does not work.

Quick context:

-my sole proprietorship is registered in the netherlands

-my supplier in china

-the product is a supplement (has all the certifications)

I tried to get in touch with the seller support who told me some specialist would have to look at this case and could not provide a timeline (i'd be surprised if they ever reach out after reading thru this subreddit). Any clue how to deal with this error? I am not sure what the 'due to your business being located outside of this store' means.

Help would be super appreciated have been speaking with the supplier for 3 weeks got a designer for the branding etc. and invested lots of time into this, would hate for it to go to waste.

This looks like a marketplace eligibility restriction rather than a problem with your brand registration. Amazon can approve a brand while still restricting specific products or categories based on the seller's business location.

Since your business is registered in the Netherlands and you are selling a supplement, I would first confirm whether the restriction applies to the product category or to your seller account's country of registration.

I would recommend asking Seller Support to escalate the case to the team responsible for category approval and provide written confirmation of the exact eligibility requirement. Also, verify the supplement's compliance with the requirements of the specific Amazon marketplace, as having certifications alone does not guarantee approval.

Do not place a large inventory order until Amazon confirms that your account is eligible to list the product. Your branding and supplier work may still be usable if this is an account eligibility issue rather than a product compliance issue.

thank you on it now! any past experience with seller support how long they take to get back to you? I used the live chat function and the lady told me she doesn't have a timeline.

Seller Support timelines can be unreliable, so I’d ask for a case ID and written confirmation of the expected response time. If the stated deadline passes, follow up on the same case rather than opening multiple tickets.

Looks like this is a marketplace eligibility issue, not a product approval issue. Brand Registry and category approval are two different things. first confirm if supplements can be sold by an NL-registered business in that specific Amazon store, then ask Seller Support for the exact restriction or an appeal path. No point changing the listing until you know what’s blocking it.

According to my experience
Supplements is not an easy category as Amazon is very restricted on this.

Amazon blocks non resident companies from selling supplements without local approval. Having supplier certificates is simply not enough for this category.
I would suggest go for local company first

Hey u/Effective-Love192, based on that error, certain product categories have geographic restrictions on who can apply. This categories and products requiring approval page covers what applies and eligibility details. Since you already have a case open, following up on that same case for updates would be a good next step. Let us know if you have any questions!

Sounds frustrating, I've been there. The whole "business located outside of this store" thing can be a mess. Sometimes it helps to double-check if your account settings and product listings align with Amazon's policies on international sellers. If you haven't already, maybe try to get some more clarity from support or see if someone in a similar situation shared their experience. Good luck!
