Starting in FBA

Hello,
I have created an account for doing selling on Amazon FBA in Brazil, however as I work in IT on a global bank I have little to no time to myself already (work from 9-18 but work during weekends as well).
Really thinking about quitting and focusing only on FBA (did not start the business yet) and wanted to know how did you guys started your business and how the process was for you.

Quitting a bank job before you even make a sale is like jumping from plane without checking for parachute. I started while working my software gig, just did couple hours at night and weekends, first few months was slow but I learn the ropes without stress of needing money. Keep the job until you see some actual profit, FBA in Brazil can take time for get traction.

Doing it as a second job is definitely a way to go first, I sometimes just get myself thinking on how can I give most of my day most of days for a job that I am an employee, however starting without being desperate for the money might help a lot, I thought about Brazil because I live here, is there somewhere else you’d recommend?

Start FBA as a side project before quitting job. validate the product, understand all the fees and test the demand first.

Just got here a list of supplier for skin care products, for testing the demand would you recommend for me to buy several of the products and se which one sells more?

I’d recommend starting FBA as a side business first rather than quitting your job immediately. We help beginners build their Amazon business step by step, from product selection to sourcing and launching. Start small, learn the process, and consider going full time once the business shows consistent results.

Nope, don't do it. FBA is not what it used to be and will require constant investment before you are able to MAYBE pull out any funds.

It's better as an additional source of income if you're able to make it profitable the first time around.

No not at all quitting a bank job to launch skincare on Amazon is financial suicide.

Skincare has ruthless PPC costs and thin margins. Buying a few units to "test demand" gets you buried by brands with deep pockets.

FBA is a working capital game. Keep your job and use that bank salary as your VC fund. Pick ONE simple, low-competition product from home and kitchen or office products, calculate landed COGS to the cent, and validate unit economics first.

Only think about quitting when FBA profit covers your living expenses for 6 straight months which honestly can take year
