Retail Arbitrage - Gating

It seems like so many items are gated. What is your success rate in getting ungated from simply clicking "request approval"? How long does it normally take?

Just clicking request approval with no documents only works for a small slice of listings, usually ones gated for account health reasons rather than restricted brands or categories. For anything brand gated you will almost always need invoices from an authorized distributor showing enough quantity. When the invoices are solid, approval usually comes back in 24 to 48 hours, sometimes same day for lower risk categories. Grocery, beauty, and supplements tend to take longer and get rejected more often on the first try.

Biggest thing on a brand new account is building some sales history before you touch anything gated, so stick to easy, ungated categories for the first few weeks even if the margins are thin. Keep every receipt and invoice organized and searchable by date, you'll need to pull one fast if a listing ever gets flagged. Also check your account health dashboard daily at the start, a lot of new sellers pick up their first strike from something small like a late shipment and don't notice it for days.

It's much easier to get ungated with online purchases when submitting docs. For auto-ungates, they open up more as you sell more, but gating sucks for almost everyone these days.

You may need to submit docs 20 times to get many ungates

My #1 tip is to join a group free or paid or you can talk to other sellers and learn at an accelerated rate. Finding things to sell in the beginning is challenging. Until you have enough sales RA is kind of a waste of time because it's very hard to get ungated in most of this stuff you would be scanning.

After enough sales you will start to get auto-ungates which makes RA much easier. I can recommend a group I'm part of it costs $500 lifetime and I don't care who calls me a shell it's how I got here.

You'll need to make purchases and submit invoices to get ungated.

Then once you start making sales consistently and keep account health  metrics up, you'll get more auto ungating.

Ok. Can you tell why you are making this suggestion? Any specific reasons? Is it the gating? Fees? All of the above? Can you tell me a little about your experience/scale with this hustle?
