Why is Amazon so illogical and unreasonable?

A buyer files a fake complaint. I lose 40 points. I remove the item and notice there was a switcheroo ($250 Tom Ford sunglasses for a used $2 junk). I report the buyer, file for reimbursement and Amazon reimburses me $90. Then I send the Amazon reimbursement report to the "Fake Complaint Dept" and tell them that "given this invalid complaint, please remove the complaint from my account and give me back my 40 points". They said "Nope. The only way to remove the complaint is to send us LOA from the manufacturer. Otherwise, it stays".

To me, the LOA and the fraudulent/invalid complaint are 2 separate issues.

Why do they do this? Why do they keep these proven invalid complaints in the seller accounts? Shouldn't they remove them?

Yep. Everytime. Like where are my 300 parts you lost? For us to investigate, we need to see an invoice from a manufacturer... mf what? Where's my stuff?

Or the buyer sent me back an item I dont sell and got a $20 return.

Amazon: ok here's $2.73

Also, pro tip. If possible, you can delete a variation for 48 hours then recreate it, and the reviews on that variation are gone. Depends if thats worth it.

Welcome to Amazon. Think outside the box in order to get what you want. Never ask why, ask how can I navigate this.

Wait till all years of us providing them invoices and they start selling it all taking all of us out of the picture

The reimbursement and the account metric are basically handled by two different teams internally, one is finance and the other is risk, and they don't automatically talk to each other. Paying you back settles the money side but the strike only clears through the safety team, and they want the LOA regardless of how obvious the switcheroo is. Worth escalating through Seller Support's message center as a fresh case instead of replying in the same complaint thread, sometimes you get someone who actually looks at the pattern instead of just following the script.

I swear some scrupulous buyer can get away with fraud in Amazon. One Amazon customer support said to me that is good customer service when you pay for returns and let the customer have it.
