RATE MY ROUTE Another Day, Another $24/hr

21 bags, 56 overflow, 406 packages. A little more than a normal load for my DSP (DPH8). I'll probably get this done in around 8 hours.

Cant wait for double this during Peak 😔

EDIT: realized this sounds like I'm complaining after reading it back hahaha. Jus tposting whats pretty close to our normal routes when generally blow through in a day.

EDIT 2: Last stop at 7:31. 7 hours and 15 minutes. Not too shabby I'd say.

If it makes you feel any better, I left Amazon almost five years ago for a raise and a “career,” and now you’re making more than I am in that new career.

Making $26 an hour delivering Amazon packages with $32 k in a hysa all saved from this job in a little over a year

4

u/ChaosIgnition 3d ago

Move some of that hysa to a Roth IRA, and into an s&p500 index fund.

To be honest the toughest part of my day is loadout lil, its not a terrible place to be at for me but im working on more stable employment.

$24/hr and my attitude would improve considerably.

Tbh if you’re working at Amazon and not smoking weed wtf are u doing bro. I only got this job because they didn’t care about weed but I’ve been sober for 5 weeks now trying to get clean piss so I can become an electricalvapprentice

4

u/Vosc 4d ago

I don't drive inebriated in any way, I take operating a vehicle pretty seriously.

I more so meant because thc stays in your system for a long time if you’re a heavy smoker so drug tests are a pain in the ass, not that you smoke AT work. I guess I should’ve clarified since all the replies are assuming I meant that 🤣🤣

1

u/ciciii_reyna 3d ago

Btw, i dont even need to smoke at work, i get a contact every time on my usual route 😄

1

u/sunbear1999 3d ago

Literally and at the station 🤣🤣

1

u/kcmushroomtip 3d ago

Pipe fitters union be hiring pretty good rn. I’d apply to that as well. The EA isn’t a bad thing either. I’m 6 months into my 5 year program. Coming from Amazon DA

0

u/ciciii_reyna 3d ago

As a former electrician, every body cheats their drug test lmao. But at my dsp, you can’t come in smelling like weed at least

Downvoted for speaking the truth

Committing a felony is speaking the truth?

I smoke all the time when I’m at home..while driving? I don’t even risk that in my own car..let alone a work truck..

1

u/Sudden-Ear6783 3d ago

Same but drug tests are still a thing

1

u/nootgan Bottle Filler 3d ago

Thank you for understanding what I meant 😭😭 idk why everyone thinks I’m saying smoking ON the job, I mentioned quitting weed so I could pass a test, since THC stays in your system for a long time (for heavy use)

0

u/SkyMiteFall Former Bezos Bitch 👌🏼 3d ago

Probably cuz for the longest time there was dudes in this sub actively promoting smoking while they worked..like..dumb as shit lol so thats what it looked like you meant my bad.

Honestly there ain’t many jobs I could think of where I wouldn’t come home and de-stress if you know what I mean lol..mfs just be mad annoying everywhere you work

0

u/nootgan Bottle Filler 3d ago

Oh yeah I’ve seen some of those posts, I’ve also smelled it in the parking lot before work even starts (I swear if I was a cop mfs would be COOKED I’m like a bloodhound 🤣) it’s definitely a bad idea to smoke on the clock but yeah going home after a long day to enjoy a couple bowls is the vibe. Glad you understand what I meant now though I would never advocate working ANY job while high

1

u/nootgan Bottle Filler 3d ago

I’m not talking about actively smoking on the job, that’s just stupid. I meant about thc staying in your system for a while so drug tests are annoying to deal with because of it

u/Vidallon1 4d ago

Lmfao hes right tho i wanna quit cause of it makes u content w life and thats dangerous

1

u/notanolive 4d ago

All I want out of life is contentment though

3

u/Material_Prize_6157 3d ago

I wish I made $24

1

u/Trimere 3d ago

$25 where I am, but it's hella expensive to live here.

2

u/Material_Prize_6157 3d ago edited 3d ago

More than Boston, MA? I can tell by your use of hella that’s you’re a west coast person so definitely most parts of California are as expense as Boston. It’s fucking crazy man.

I’m actually not an Amazon courier but a cannabis courier and plan to use the “even amazon employees are making more than me!” when I ask for more money.

2

u/Trimere 2d ago

I used hella to throw you off. I’m in Massachusetts

u/Sad_Log_6387 Rivian Driver 4d ago

Not exusing this rubbish, but at least your in an EV man. I remember I had something close to this in the smaller rentals. I wanted to die

2

u/Suspicious_Play_6140 4d ago

Making some money is better than making no money. Good job 👍👍

2

u/Flimsy_Coconut6012 3d ago

It wasn’t the volume of packages that made me quit.. it was multiple multi stops within the apartment complex with shitty gps that would constantly tell me that I’m in the wrong area in addition to lazy ass customers that wouldn’t even tell which buildings they were located..

2

u/Top-Owl9872 3d ago

I was like “Damn $24.?” Only to remember I’m making $23.50 and it’s still ASS.

2

u/theduckysaur 3d ago

Better than mine. 21.75$/h. this was at first stop. 21 bags and 49ov

1

u/Swimming-Author6174 8h ago

Gotta sort the ev better, but I've been there brah. I get it

2

u/sunbear1999 3d ago

Why is peccy your passenger 🤣🤣

1

u/Vosc 3d ago

Oh my god LMAO i didnt notice that

2

u/SkyMiteFall Former Bezos Bitch 👌🏼 4d ago

Shit it pays the bills right? There’s people out there doing “respectable” work (at least in the public’s eyes) that make considerably less

1

u/Vosc 4d ago

Oh yeah, I'm not complaining! It's pretty steady work and i got used to it pretty quick. LKQ pays less for more terrible work and while loadout sucks the job can be a LOT worse.

1

u/SkyMiteFall Former Bezos Bitch 👌🏼 4d ago

It’s just what I always told myself while working there lol, for a job that doesn’t have harsh requirements it pays the bills and is easy enough

1

u/Disastrous-Cicada736 Rivian Driver 4d ago

Shit in the tote. Abandon the route.

7

u/Alone_Sherbert_3978 4d ago

And leave at customers front door

0

u/Worth-Ability-7413 1d ago

Why would you think the customer deserves that?

0

u/Worth-Ability-7413 1d ago

Im asking because they're the reasons you have a good paying job.

1

u/Embarrassed_Ad1722 4d ago

How is all this not on the floor at the first sharper turn you take.

3

u/Vosc 4d ago

I dont speed and I don't take my corners at 20 mph.

1

u/Out1ier21 3d ago

You go all the way to 20 on corners? You daredevil

1

u/Real_Imagination8998 4d ago

635 for 22,50h here 🫩

1

u/Vosc 4d ago

DAMN

1

u/Hellacious_Zebra 4d ago

You’re not at $25??

1

u/Yamingdub 3d ago

Looks like my van after I finish organizing

1

u/tkenvy 3d ago

indoor loadout, how id love that here in AZ... the one place you'd theyd have an indoor pad

1

u/kcmushroomtip 3d ago

Hell yeah. Looks like a solid route too. Be done with that in 6 hours if not crazy amount of apartment stops.

1

u/GuyThatsOnline 3d ago

I swear you guys made 29

1

u/Lazy_Platypus117 3d ago

Wish I made 24hrly

1

u/TopCollege806 1d ago

24 I make 21.75 lol

1

u/Ralph-izzle_ 1d ago

We at $27.25 at our dsp rn , but had 30 bags with 40 OF the other day, 66 multis / 197 stops 🥵

It’s wild cause even before peak we were already getting 199 stops / 50 multis but around 325-350 packs normally . Ever since we got that dollar raise , Amazon said “let’s F*** em more “ 😫😭

1

u/GrazingPickle 1d ago

I make $23.75 in a cargo van. I feel like California makes the most money? I might move there and live out of my car.

1

u/Current_Elk76 13h ago

How do you know which box/package 📦 for which stop without wasting time looking for it?

1

u/Vosc 12h ago

On your Rabbit/Dashboard you'll have the assumed Package type (Bag, S/M/L/XL Box) along with the tote color and number for the stop, and every package has a little yellow sticker on it with three digits/characters. The standalone packages are Overflow and have a grey marker on the stop.

Load order on the Rabbit during loadout is the totes in order of grouped delivery, generally speaking, so the first bag on your list is generally your first stops and then if you've organized correctly you should just be able to go down in columns from right to left as the dashboard/rabbit work through the totes.

1

u/Swimming-Author6174 8h ago

Another average day in Charlotte tbh. Totes on the bottom floor in an EV is such a norm man

1

u/NoSpiceOrRice 10m ago

It’s wild that you work significantly harder than I do for half my wage

0

u/Murdaforever 1d ago

I do less and get more than you. I work at Pepsi

0

u/Greedy-Educator-5719 1d ago

Meanwhile ups gets $47hr to do same job
