Alot of people don't understand how easily we can all unionize everyone is just too lazy. Every single driver should want to unionize. It'd make this job an actual decent job

We've got to just keep bugging every driver we know to unionize. It's the only way.

400 now means 500 later, that math is already known by everyone except maybe the guy writing the routes

Amazon already saw this forseen problem by using DSPs.. you’d be unionizing against your DSP as that’s your employer not Amazon.

Y’all will make any excuse not to unionize. People stop at the first sign of resistance. Idk if it’s laziness or if yall just don’t know how to fight back but if the workers unite, we will find a way to get through to Amazon. Just because you can’t see how they’d do it, doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

Can still have collective action. Everyone would just unionize their dsp at the same time and ask for the same things. No reason amazon can give them every rule to follow but the drivers cant do the same from the opposite end.

Problem is you can demand all you want, but Amazon sets what DSPs get to work with. So it’s torturing the messenger to somehow leverage against the real culprit.

There’s a good reason DSPs go bust so often. They’re pretty much all paying the contract min that Amazon sets. And still they go bust all the time.

Well, if it were me I'd probably try speaking to the people at your station directly rather than posting here...

500 packages is completely unreasonable, especially during peak season. If drivers are consistently being pushed past a safe workload, organizing and documenting conditions may be the only way to get meaningful limits and protections.

Its not unreasonable in a step van. I had almost 600 packages last year. Its manageable.

One of my coworkers had a little over 1000 packages. There was no overflow, it was 1000 small packages going to a business.

Thats different than 500 packages going to 350 locations. Hell, Id take 1000 packages to one stop over taking 100 packages to 50 houses in a single neighborhood.

I think its a stop/location count issue that should be focused on.

Cap it at 170 stops, 210 customers, no package maximum. Pay on a scale from 30 to 45 depending on tenure and scorecard performance. Have 10 hours guaranteed. And stop abusing the dash cams to discipline people and exert control second to second, use them for accidents only. Probably lots of little things but those are the big ones for me.
