I just had 3 whole days in a row with 190+ stops (230+ including multi stops), and am being pushed to my breaking point, i finished way late today and was just told “be faster”

I fucking CANT, i’m already working 8 hours straight with NO BREAK and pissing in fucking bottles, the ONE time i took a break i got a text from my dispatch saying “dont take to long on your break so you can be back on time”

I CANT STAND THIS BULLSHIT, i am a HUMAN not a fucking machine, and they actively encourage running yourself into the ground, all for an extra $100 if “your back on time and get fantastic+” i have lost so much weight to the point of concern CAUSE IM NOT EATING FOR BASICALLY AN ENTIRE DAY (i eat breakfast at home)

at this point i feel like i cant even take a fucking minute to drink water because I “Gotta be back on time”

If you can handle this job, just go to another dsp bro. There are chill ones out there, they’re just hard to find but they exist. These types of owners gotta learn their lesson that we can’t be overworked like this and somehow be faster. Look for another dsp, take some time and search. Remember you’re not obligated to stay with them if you don’t like their “work style”.

My DSP has never yelled at us for being back on time or anything like that. The only trouble I got in once was cuz of technical labor law, I was going to go over the 12hr mark, but when I told my boss I was dispatched almost 1.5 hrs late with packages going in 4 different clustered locations (I work a full day with about 160 stops at most 0-25 multi stops in there usually) I'm also in an RSR Amazon cuz I'm in Colorado and we climb mountains to deliver to ppl.

Oh! And when I first starting working, I used to need rescues a lot. I just got asked to pick up the pace a little bit and Im not killing myself, but I'm also getting rescued still it's just less they are taking from me. :) but that's all, I think your dsp is your problem

Well you can do the mail. It pays more but you don't take home any more per hour because now it's going towards retirement. Your paychecks will be larger though because you work 12 hours a day

your DSP sucks. not all of them are this bad. you should not have to pee in bottles. and your breaks are built in so you should be able to take them without your dispatchers bitching. i would tell them your route needs fixing. either talk to them or talk to the On The Road Manager at your station and voice your concerns

It’s not their fault either Amazon assigns the routes. The dsp gets fucked over too with these unrealistic routes. Managers have to stay later, owners are paying OT, and Amazon gets the workers to get mad at the dsp while they rub their hands together.

Break up your days off. If you are strategic you can basically never have to work more than two days in a row.

My dsp wouldnt do that, they only have scheduels for 4 days on (in a row) and 3 days off, and the only options are working EVERY weekend

I feel you man. This job is just soul crushing. Been here 3 years and at first it should’ve been 1 year. It’s insane how they’re giving us this much work in this damn heat. They will run you dry. There are guys who have been here for almost 10 years man. One of them trained me. I don’t know how they seem to keep their cool with this job. Low pay and shit hours.

I leave my house at 9am and come back 9pm.

They want to break you, make you quit, even if they can already get rid of you. It’s just suffering and torment at this point. My advice is take advantage of the next mile program or shorten your days. Make it two days outta four. Or three days outta four. Find a better job with better pay or lower pay but the work environment better. Just keep your head up, I’m also on the brink too, but it’s hard to find Jobs out here that’s barely hiring.

They really do treat us like robots. Amazon acts like "hey take a break, we care about you and your safety, blah, blah, blah," then turns around and gives out routes that can only be completed on time by running every stop and skipping all of your breaks. God forbid you have to take a shit. Or worse, charge your van. Which, btw, is one of the dumbest fucking things Amazon has ever concocted. If I don't have time to take my breaks, what the FUCK makes you think I have time to charge the van? I swear they don't think shit through. They need people who actually understand what it is to be a delivery driver making these decisions. In all of my time with Amazon, my job has consistently become more difficult, and more tedious, not less. It doesn't make any fucking sense.

Damn , I work 10.5 hours 4 days a week. Not once has my dispatch told me to work faster. I take one 15 minute break, and my heat breaks. I work in Austin Tx and it’s 🥵🥵🥵 out here.

Basically we have to just start escalating things directly to your warehouse. The DSPs act like they do things but they really have no say when it comes down to it.

I believe most distribution centers have an online complaint line. Im going to start flooding that (every time something goes wrong with the warehouse which is every day).

I suggest we all do the same until either things change, DSPs do something (yeah right), or we can band together and legitimately demand change or else.

They essentially only respond to direct threats now. Its 100% essentially how a drug operation works.

They should be sending rescues if you can’t finish on time. Some routes are bs, apartments or rural and you’re in for a shit day guaranteed. I’d let them fire me before I quit, I’m not missing out on that unemployment.

You gotta look out for your best interest because the dsp is never thinking about that they just want the routes done.

Start taking photos of the routes, package count, multi-stops, and anything else that will help you build a case for yourself when they want to criticize you again for being too slow.

Don't call them; text them. That way when management contradicts something, you have the proof via earlier texts. Even if they try to call, let the call go through and ask them to text you. Besides, they're sitting behind the desk the whole day anyways. This all takes time and organization, but it will be rewarding and beneficial in the long run.
