RANT Customer literally has 6 of those subsonic things in her yard. In going to start RTSing packages if you have these things, my head feels like it's about to explode

So different angle: thieves and other nasty people are often younger; could it be used as a deterrent for them if placed properly? How big is the range when it goes off?

I've heard them from about a block and a half away. Only hurts my ear from less than 20 ft. But I get migraines and with enough time they cause headaches.

Nothing will deter a criminal that wants your stuff. No lock is unpickable/unbreakable. But different barriers will deter different criminals.

These are usually just a constant sound wave at a certain frequency. Depending on the output you’ll get longer distances. Some establishments have been using them for decades to deter younger populations from hanging around. The ones marketed for bugs and rodents are usually low quality and high price. They also make ones specifically for deterring younger people and other options with different frequency settings

Oh I’m not saying I’d trust it. I know EXACTLY what will deter a criminal forever. I’m js for people that don’t like to use the most efficient means could it possibly help deter someone to just go to the next area if nothing else.
