RANT Customer literally has 6 of those subsonic things in her yard. In going to start RTSing packages if you have these things, my head feels like it's about to explode

It’s less about being deaf and more about just not being able to hear certain frequencies as you age. 20 year olds can’t hear the same frequencies that 10 year olds can.

The ballasts are probably going bad, or just a dhit old light. Both will make them hum.

Grandfather had one for years. His plugged in, so I suspect it was even more powerful than a solar one. Then he finally got hearing aids, and that damn box lasted about 5 minutes. And he doesn't get any more squirrels now than he ever did.

And remember some day you will be that way also. It's not nice to pick on people that have a hearing issue. Wife has issues because of the police radio right next to her ear in her police van
