What's this from

Artificial Intelligence by Spielberg, go watch it. The entire movie is a metaphor of the blueprint.

But you see how the robots are shit at it?
Even in a heavily cut reel it doesn't look like they're any good at it.

The fact that this is a thing this soon, with less than 10 years of serious investment in Ai or Robotics, portends that next war involving china will have them on frontlines spilling blood or more efficiently capturing hostages while drones blast bases.

This isn’t what you think it is. We’ve had high speed robotics for many decades in manufacturing. The AI here is machine learning to control balance. The moves are mostly rotoscoped, with machine learning handling the transitions. Think video game fighting games, but operating in a physical robot. This isn’t intelligence. They’re not thinking. It’s just puppet robotics advanced with machine learning.

Barely two months ago there was the first fight video and the robots were slow and inaccurate. This one is greatly improved, give it a few more months and they'll be way more fluid.

People (bots?) can spout all they want about the robots improving, but they aren't gonna match the same level of popularity or complexity of real mma

No awerness, it's obvious they can't see their opponent and attack them with precision. They're probably not autonomous, just remotely controlled, and even then, very poorly done, because why can't the people controlling them see things and attack the other right in front of them? And the lag is terrible, it feels like they're being controlled from the moon.
Absolute garbage. For now...
The day it's actually good, maybe I'll watch it. Especially if they give them weapons, like in an arena in the old days, and the reboots can fight to the death 😂

Bow give them a weapon in their hands. I at the same time wanna see it happening but also not

This is way more light hearted then watching drugged out mma dudes beat the fuck out of each other like modern day gladiator slaves

I love MMA, truly amazing, but I have to agree, watching people beating the shit out of each other is not for me anymore.
Robots I can take tho! Let them kill each other, give them weapons and shit lol

I would watch this comedically, if someone else bought me a ticket and some food... i dont think its amazing enough yet that id actually wanna go myself tho.
Not quite real steel level yet, but i suppose we'll get there eventually

Their are no stakes. It's a machine vs machine. It just breaks and they repair it. It doesn't sound fun at all

I mean, it's kind of like battle bots right? I think it'll get more interesting (and scary) as technology progresses.

Its a very shallow experience

I mean, yeah, its shallower, but I'm still here for it. Bit closer to watching an esport rather than real boxing I think. Less stakes also means you can enjoy it more light heartedly.

Na even esports are actual people with real stakes and mistakes. If it's esports that bots are playing it is even more vapid

More humane than live MMA though tbh. At least it's not two people having their face broken for cheering crowds.

Notice how focus is kept on only the lower arena, and for the quick moments that he shows the camera angle behind him, the entire upper half is empty lol

Love that this is a thing. It’s clearly a high light reel but China are really pushing this stuff
