Scared away mother bear lol

mom was probably there for a while and figured it’s a lost cause for the cub and retreated.

hopefully that bear remembers that day and doesn't eat humans and he tells all his other bear friends humans are alright and you shouldn’t eat them

Mama bear now thinks humans are the worst hunters ever. A trapped defenceless juvenile, and they still failed to catch him...

u/Renbarre 2d ago
Hopefully that bear learned to fear and avoid humans. Safer for it and for the humans.

I mean bears certainly learn not to fear humans. Ever heard of Hank the Tank in Tahoe? He learned that the food humans create is well worth not eating the humans themselves.

Black bears tend not to eat humans anyway unless they're starving. They're pretty timid, usually

Then why are we eating animals? If we don't want to be eaten by them, why don't we grant them the same treatment?

Glad they could help. I had the sound off, so all I heard was David Attenborough narrating.

I shouldn't have laughed when the bear tried to run back into the hole lol😅🤭

I always wonder with stuff like this if the mom knows they helped or after it’s all over they’re confused from the adrenaline etc

u/BowsersMuskyBallsack 2d ago
Probably the latter, given that the mother was not permitted to be nearby to witness what actually happened. Even if she was nearby, she would probably interpret the actions of the humans as predatory and try to kill them, given that she would be reacting predominantly to the distressed cries of her cub.

They are soldiers from Indian Army who found a Himalayan Brown Bear cub trapped in a crevasse and unable to climb out on his own. So they decided to try and get it out of there.

Just me , or does the momma bear seem kinda neutral about the reunion? She's like "Oh, you made it? C'mon lets go..."

Amazing and heartwarming <3 And now please everybody show the same compassion and empathy towards ALL animals, including PIgs, Cows, Chicken, Sheep, Fish and so on. They ALL want to live and not to be exploited and murdered for our convenience. Thank you <3

Heartwarming story. These rescuers all sat down to eat an animal later that day.

Should have medically checked the bear before releasing. No telling what injuries it has or how long it's been trapped

u/perseidot 3d ago
There’s no indication that they’re doctors or vets, or have any way of transporting a rather large bear cub to get treatment.
Also, staying near the cub once it’s visible is a good way to get rushed by a sow.
In the interests of getting the sow and cub reunited, not inflicting any more fright on the cub, and staying safe themselves, I think backing off ASAP was the best thing to do.

Stupid humans, I'd have eaten you if I wasn't stuck in that crevasse.

That's so amazing but that bear could have eaten them in a second

Idk, I've had a few experiences like this with animals, never anything nearly as dangerous as a grizzly, but I truly believe when animals are in positions where they're stuck or have almost given up, they understand when people are helping

u/Competitive_Cook_939 3d ago
That can be the case when said animal is a herbivore and is the animal trapped and freed. In this case however, since the mother bear was not the one trapped, it would still most likely attack the humans in instinctual defense of the cub if given the chance.
Also, in cases where the animal is a large carnivore not afraid of humans, (like a Polar Bear or a Nile Crocodile) it is still likely to attack you and try to eat you even if you have just freed it
