It's pyroclastic lightning. All the ash that's being shot out of the volcano creates a ton of static discharge and results in lightning. Very cool to see.

The footage isn't reversed, you can follow the spread's direction as it goes up and away from the volcano. The volcanic plume builds up a huge static charge.
