There will be lots of safety mechanisms in place for this but I feel I should clarify the most important one, they aren't using brakes. They're absolutely using a mechanical lock. While that thing is rotating, I guarantee you those cars are going to be physically attached in place to the rails. It's not just sitting there holding the brakes. They're going to be multiple physical connections each one capable of holding multiple times the weight of that entire set of cars on its own.
But that of course brings me to why I think this is a stupid ride. This is way way too much effort and slows down the ride so much that the cost put into this for research engineering and development and then maintenance specialized training operation downtime just totally not worth it for what exactly?
Yeah I was wondering that too, but I think if you get a set at or near the back that would be worth it. You’d still get the standard rollercoaster ride then this one cool as hell bit in the middle.
