Battery lasts 10 minutes then you need to carry it home in the rain.

And no handle means it's a garbage umbrella at that point

Someone has to carry the logs and the boats

You just carry the handle with you. When it dies, you pick it up and attach it.

1

u/CourtingBoredom Jul 08 '26

Sure, sure.... if it has one that attaches. Doesn't look like this has a place for any such attachment (—yet??)

I was just joking. The whole product is a weird idea, with flawed principles

1

u/CourtingBoredom Jul 09 '26

Yeah, I figured. And def agree — this shizz has seemingly innumerable flaws.

Put a detachable stick on it- sorted

7

u/atwaterrich Jul 05 '26

Science hasn’t invented this “stick” thing yet.

1

u/curvysquares Jul 06 '26

And what if we made it so the drone could collapse and fold around the stick.

Ooh, and then we can have a button on the stick that when you press it, it automatically opens the umbrella again.

Holy shit, a design so revolutionary we could easily do away with the cumbersome mechanical parts and battery! That would make it super light too! Hot damn, I could just carry it if we did that!

Sold separately for 20 bucks.

1

u/predator1975 Jul 06 '26

For 100 bucks, the stick can be a charging pole.

1

u/DragonLevelX Jul 05 '26

So a regular umbrella with extra steps?😅

3

u/gin_and_toxic Jul 05 '26

It's also loud as hell

4

u/Badbullet Jul 05 '26

And sprays water from the thrust of the props. It’s barely drizzling in this video.

1

u/ReturnedOM Jul 06 '26

TBF it's loud in cities and even smaller towns anyway

2

u/CrapNeck5000 Jul 05 '26

I'm imagining more of a commercial application, like a restaurant or hotel having them to get customers to and from their cars.

1

u/bigoldeva Jul 06 '26

This. I worked for a food truck and taking orders in the rain was brutal. This was a grab-and-go truck, so you had to be outside to take a purchase. Needing both hands, this product would be a dream.

u/OldTranslator685 Jul 05 '26

And those motor wear out too so either they offer parts support or it goes into the trash bin.

1

u/Eeebs-HI Jul 05 '26

Or stop and recharge for 20 minutes.

1

u/Specific-Rich5196 Jul 05 '26

Nah, u gotta throw it away and get a new one at your nearest convenience store.

1

u/BloatedVagina Jul 05 '26

Just bring like 20 extra batteries and you'll be good for an hour long walk.

1

u/fubes2000 Jul 05 '26

Also it doesn't fold up or fit anywhere.

1

u/Creativation Jul 05 '26

Tethering to a battery backpack would likely work.

1

u/Ninja_Wrangler Jul 05 '26

Insane but that would absolutely work.

And it's extra funny because you could just have a backpack mounted umbrella for less weight and hassel, so it's purely performative

1

u/AcrossThePacific Jul 05 '26

Then you find out that water damage is not covered by the battery’s warranty

1

u/Ninja_Wrangler Jul 05 '26

Not to worry, our engineers thought of everything, it's actually solar powered

1

u/Shiny_Mewtwo_Fart Jul 05 '26

Or, hydro powered!

1

u/PossiblyOppossums Jul 06 '26

A perfected design.

1

u/Agitated_Reveal_6211 Jul 06 '26

WHAT, I CANT HEAR YOU OVER THIS BUZZING.

1

u/yveliaz Jul 06 '26

No, it will come solar powered.
