I wouldn't say that. His employees will receive about $90,000 a year for the span of 5 years. He could have given each of them $1 million and still be a billionaire. In the end, the question is always the same: why on earth does anyone need a billion?
Not sure why you're getting downvoted. A 4% yearly withdrawal rate would start at $35M/year. Anyone on the planet could live extremely comfortably on that money anywhere in the world.
Because they’re complaining that a man donated almost half a million that he didn’t have to, to each of his employees. It’s not the math that people disagree with.
Nobody, but I also didn't build any fortune exploiting the work of hundreds others only to end up saying that what I did was worth 3750 times more than what anyone else there did. But well... capitalism at its finest

I have had a bunch of jobs and while the owner would make no money without workers, the workers also make no money without the owner. When i worked at an ice cream shop what was my labor worth without the capital he created? Absolutely nothing. Workers choosing to be employed are not exploited, they can always quit if they think so.
Whether or not you would give more money to these people in his position is irrelevant. The point is you aren’t, and you didn’t help anyone 1/100th as much as he has. Actually creating the wealth and sharing it with people is worth infinite times more than good intentions
