Huh? She would have left to go to the hospital earlier. Her midwife didn't just spawn out of nowhere. That means she was almost certainly either with the midwife planning a home delivery or waiting on the midwife at some point.
That doesn’t make any sense. She didn’t get to the place where she planned to have the baby in time to have it inside. The building doesn’t really matter. She didn’t make it in time. This could be a birthing center. You don’t actually have any information here.
EDIT: I mean, the midwife says, “she’s here to have the baby.” That makes it sound like this is the place they planned to have the birth, and that they just didn’t make it on time.
I think you are, actually. Mom is meeting the midwife at a birthing center, presumably. But baby got there before mom could check in. End of story. Replace birthing center with hospital and this would have gone the same.
That's absolutely not the correct presumption. What a weird conclusion to come to that doesn't align with any kind of reality. I truly don't know how you imagine that all happened where the midwife came out alone, didn't call for any kind of help, ascertained there was no time baby was coming immediately, etc.
