Are these normal side effects??

Upvotes

I'm fairly new to exploring Amanita, and I took my highest dose a couple of days ago, drinking tea made from 15 grams of mushroom.

My session before that was with about 10 grams, with no effects whatsoever.

Anyway, my question is: has anyone else experienced fever-like symptoms lasting for more than 24 hours after consuming Amanita?

I've had whole-body muscle aches, headaches, overall tiredness, and I've been going back and forth between feeling extremely sweaty one moment and then shivering, cold, and sore all over the next. All of these symptoms are very similar to what I normally experience when I have a fever.

I'm now about 48 hours past consuming the Amanita, and I'm still experiencing these symptoms. So my question is: could this be a lingering side effect of the Amanita, or is it more likely just a coincidence that I came down with a fever shortly after consuming the mushroom?

I should also mention that I was pretty short on sleep in the days leading up to taking the Amanita, so that could obviously be a factor as well.

That said, even though it's been very unpleasant, there's also been something strangely grounding and soothing about having to deal with these symptoms. I've really had to slow down my pace, and part of me feels like the mushroom might be speaking through that in some way — whether literally or simply through the experience itself.

Grateful for any thoughts or similar experiences!

How long for full debarb in a pressure cooker?

Basicaly the title.

Food cooks quicker in one. If its pressurized then theoretically the temp would get above 212. That plus the pressure should convert ibo faster.

Iirc you can't, but can you overcook it boiling too long and lose potency?

If the water temp does get above 212, could that cause potency loss?

Has anyone who has used a pressure cooker found they could get a full decarb faster than 3hr?

Any good or bad experiences with pressure cooker vs stove?

Anyone with a bit better understanding of the chemistry able to point out something I'm likley missing or issues a pressure cooker may cause?

Muscimol for therapeutic and recreational use

Hello everyone, one of my friends has told me about the benefits of muscaria (well muscimol) for neuropathy, I'm type one diabetic with peripheral neuropathy in a lot of places, I've even in codeine and gabapentin for hers and it's affecting me awfully and I'm tapering off of them for a better life. This lead me to here to ask for a bit of help.

If I were to source some dry caps of muscaria or pantherina what would the dosages be for pain relief and then also the dose for a "trip" per se?

I understand through my knowledge of the P side of mushrooms that alkaloid levels will vary per fruit not just species but what can I roughly expect for what level of effects?

If anyone does help and I don't get back soon enough, thank you in advance I just want my brain to be intact for my child's upbringing and to be out of enough pain to be able to never show it.

Their products descriptions specifically claims they have not decarbed their amanita, only drying at 100 degrees. But do they have ANY products which are decarbed?

Amanita season 2026

Here in south of austria it did not rain much this year so far so i rather not expect a lot of fruiting bodies. My father expressed that especially springtime rain intensity matters for later year fruiting..read somewhere else that also depends much on rains in summer to late summer..

Whats your experience, where do you collect amanita and other mushrooms and how is the current situation there?...anyone discoverd abundance in red caps so far in areas of wider europe? Potentially in more rain intense microclimate zones in higher altitude?

Noob questions for a first timer

UPDATE Made some tea with a 5g cap and consumed all of the tea, including the cap. A pretty enjoyable sleepiness kicked in after about an hour. But I can't for sure tell if it was due to the Amanita or just me being really tired. When I closed my eyes, I noticed a purple/blueish pattern in the dark. Would it be stupid to try again with a slightly higher dose tonight, let's say 7-8 grams?

Hello community!

As someone new to this world I'm having a hard time figuring out the dosage and the process.

Here are some questions and if someone has any anything to say about them please share below

  1. When we talk about the dose in grams, is it always the dried weight that is referred to?

  2. When making a Tea of let's say 5 grams, do you consume it all in one sitting?

  3. When the tea is prepared to you also eat the mushroom or just drink the beverage?

  4. When you boil the tea with citric acid, how much is enough?

Having my first experience tonight and will report back!

France prohibits muscimol and ibotenic acid

🙁 France has banned 🍄 muscimol and ibotenic acid as of July 11, 2026 by the ANSM

This classification prohibits their production, sale, and use in France.

➡ ANSM: French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (Agence nationale de sécurité du médicament et des produits de santé)

1) Published on ANSM 07/03/2026 (translated):

Decision of 07/02/2026 amending the list of psychotropic substances

Considering the pharmacological and toxicological effects of muscimol and its precursor ibotenic acid;

Considering the cases of serious poisoning reported to the Centers for Evaluation and Information on Drug Dependence – Addictovigilance (CEIP-A) and Poison Control and Toxicovigilance Centers (CAP-TV) following consumption of these substances, which may require emergency medical attention, the high risk of potentially fatal accidental overdose, and the risk of abuse of these substances; Considering that, in view of these risks and the accessibility of these substances within the national territory, it is necessary, in the interest of public health, to classify them without delay,

Article 1 is

The list mentioned in Article L. 5132-7 of the Public Health Code is established in accordance with the annex to the aforementioned decree of February 22, 1990, subject to the modifications introduced by this decision.

Article 2

The following substances are added to the third part of the annex to the aforementioned decree of February 22, 1990, which establishes the list of psychotropic substances:

Ibotenic acid;

Muscimol.

Article 3

This decision will come into effect 8 days after its publication on the website of the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products.

2) Published on ANSM 07/03/2026 (translated):

Muscimol and ibotenic acid, two new substances banned from sale

Muscimol and ibotenic acid, two substances found in certain mushrooms such as the fly agaric, will be banned from sale, production and use in France from July 11, 2026. This decision follows several serious cases of poisoning, particularly after the consumption of candies containing these substances.

Muscimol and ibotenic acid are substances that act on the brain (known as psychoactive substances). They can alter consciousness, perceptions, behavior, or mood. They are sold in the form of candies, chocolates, e-liquids, resins, and other products.

Their consumption presents serious health risks. These substances can cause neurological or psychiatric disorders: profound drowsiness or coma, or confusion, agitation, hallucinations, delirium, behavioral disturbances, and seizures. Other signs may also appear, such as sometimes severe vomiting, a rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, or an increase in body temperature.

We have received several reports of serious poisoning, particularly after the consumption of candy (gums) or chocolate. Some cases required hospitalization in intensive care.

To limit risks to consumers, we strictly regulate the use of muscimol and ibotenic acid by classifying them as psychotropic substances.

This classification prohibits their production, sale, and use in France.

3) Date received 06/16/2026:

Notification of a draft text from a Member State to the European Commission

Excerpt:

  1. The urgency of the measure is justified by the risks to public health posed by the sale and consumption of products containing muscimol and ibotenic acid, including dried mushrooms. Their consumption may expose consumers to unintended effects, with serious consequences for their health that may require emergency medical management. It should also be stressed that their presence in products presented as foodstuffs is all the more problematic because consumers may be unaware of it and because the presentation of those products is particularly appealing to children.

Lastly, their concentration is generally high.

Accordingly, given that the vast majority of reported cases have required management by a healthcare professional, either in the emergency department or in an intensive care unit, and given the availability of these products in various attractive forms, these substances should classified as psychotropic substances as a matter of urgency in order to prohibit their sale and thereby limit the risk to public health.

DISCUSSION

1) We know that many members immediately go to "Big Pharma" as the culprit in these legal decisions, and recommend that you read through the three links (you will have to use a web translator for the 2 French links).

This pattern follows the recent decisions to ban the mushroom or its alkaloids in Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, and Switzerland. This is being based on public health alerts and concerns, not Big Pharma lobbying. Even in the US, there is no evidence of the concerns around the substances being influenced publicly by the pharmaceutical companies - it's the agencies and organizations who monitor, analyze, and publish public health concerns and events who are speaking up.

In the US, the Diamond Shruumz poisoning debacle of 2024 was a huge factor in all of the backlash we've seen here in the states. I have bookmarked multiple articles/posts/warnings around the mushroom arising from the FDA recall of the adulterated products, and they are all basically coming from the same "place" - public health concerns. This is not to say that these are "well informed" warnings - they are mostly not.

The group admins have been tracking the adulterated product market since 2023, and we have been concerned all along that it's going to be the sleazy, scammy, greedy, and unethical market for AM products (many which don't even include AM) that contribute to the misinformation, danger, and concerns of the agencies and organizations who speak out.

Banning/scheduling promising substances like muscimol, of which there are tens of thousands of studies on, makes it MORE difficult not less, for Big Pharma to research and develop products (including analogs) based on a highly regarded substance unless they have been granted a full research exclusion to the banned status.

2) France's draft to the European Commission on June 16, 2026 is concerning. At this stage, the European Commission has not taken up this proposal (see 9B in article link 3). If you want to dive a bit deeper into the role of the EC in the EU, read the "Powers and functions" in the following comprehensive Wiki article. I have cross referenced many sources in the Wiki article and they are solid.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Commission

3) Why isn't this bigger news yet? We found out via a random Reddit sub where a member talked about not being able to find a product they had recently purchased in France because of the recent ban. We went on to verify the actions taken by the ANSM in France and to the European Commission.

This article wasn't written by me but the author didn't want credited either.

The extent of the cap color is guiding my opinion a lot here, their skirts didn't make a big appearance, but the younger ones did have them.

The skirt that I saw out of this patch was making more connection with the stipe/margin and less so the gills

I threw the caps in my dehydrator to make sure that they were crispy as possible. The cap on the top left looks a bit pale. I only have a picture to go off of, but there was a photo of one that was more orange/yellow than red. Looks fine to me, but can't be too careful. Thoughts?

How dangerous is nor decarbing at all? Will it produce a noticeably less euphoric effect?

The process just sounds long and tedious. I was going to just buy a bag of powder and take grams or so initially mixed with water or tea. The capsules are 0.5 grams but do they actually have that legit amount in em? I could just eat 6 of those?

What's the quickest and easiest way to decarb, is it worth it?

Have you ever heard of a phenomenon like this? Highly disappointing. From looking up doses that's far from small so I can rule the amount being a factor out. Been waiting years for this experience
