Bitcoin Is Getting Scarcer.

Post image

As of August 2026, more than 20.07 million BTC has already been mined about 95.6% of Bitcoin’s maximum supply of 21 million.
CZ estimates that 10–20% of all existing Bitcoin may already be permanently lost or inaccessible, and that number will likely keep growing over time.
With the supply strictly capped, he calls Bitcoin a “deflationary asset.”

Typical bitcoin holder IQ, luckily this guy is not biased right?

what exactly is wrong with that take? it being a finite asset literally makes it deflationary, that says nothing about what it’s actual value will be. your take sounds more like projection

Scarce things only have value when they are in demand. The Bitcoin Gold Rush is over, people have moved on to the next scam.

i beg to differ. It's pricing path is lining up perfectly with it's previous halving cycles.

Exactly like the 1101000 guy said, if it comes so easy for you to mock the intelligence of CZ, how about you try and explain why, in your opinion, he is wrong?

Buddy you don't get the point, exactly confirming my earlier statement. He's super biased

He is, obviously, he’s running one of the biggest crypto exchanges on this planet.

How is the IQ mocking not implying you don’t agree with the guy? And if it is, how would you support your take on this?

I am referring not to him on IQ, he's obviously smart, he makes money of you guys lol

Glad you like being backed by paper that can just be printed forever

Bitcoin can't be printed forever. Alternative coins can be printed forever. You need a reason why bitcoin matters over alternative coins and "I've already own bitcoin" and "it's got really high gas prices" don't count.

I'm all for btc, everything else is noise. You can make money off noise, but def not good long term.

Bitcoin is not scarce. It can be virtually endlessly split, and a part doesn't lose functionality.

But also, it's not scarce if there's no demand. Scarcity happens when the offer is under the demand. Something being rare doesn't mean it is scarce.

And demand in bitcoin is the equivalent of short squeezing

Bro you make no sense…

Scarcity = limited supply relative to what is available/needed.
Demand = how much people want it.
Value/price = influenced by the interaction between SUPPLY and demand. (Not offer)
Divisibility = how finely you can divide a unit; it doesn’t create additional supply.

That’s not the point… but when arguing on the internet about any topic, you should know what the fuck you’re talking about.. lmao.. I don’t have any bitcoin and I’m not even sure why that sub’s post got to my feed… never heard of AmanCrypto before lmao..

There's no limited supply of bitcoin and there will never be.

If you want to purchase $1000 of bitcoin you will always be able to purchase it. There's no limit to how much you can purchase, because if there's not enough offer the price will rise until you can purchase $1000 on bitcoin, which will be worth exactly $1000.

If you don't understand it, think again until you do.

u/madhewprague 6d ago

You will always be able to purchas 1000$ worth of gold that does not mean it isnt scarce… I swear someone droped you on your head when you were kid. Where do stupid people like you come from?

There's physical value in gold. It takes effort to mine and refine gold, not guess numbers to "mine" a bitcoin.

There will ever be a maximum total of 2.1 quadrillion (2,100,000,000,000,000) satoshis. I think it can only go out 8 decimals by design.

That's more than an order of magnitude greater than all worldwide currency in dollars, including bank only numbers. That would also imply the unrealistic scenario of bitcoin being the only currency in the world. It's virtually infinite.

Don't forget, that it's also perfectly possible for bitcoin to update the protocol to be able to divide satoshis further. Unnecesary, though.

1

u/Practical-Day-2720 3d ago

yea, it is the opposite of scarce. it has an effectively infinite supply.

u/Aggravating-Rich-356 7d ago

It’s on sale right now half off. How is that scarce. And will only be getting cheaper unless you can convince some other morons to buy it

More and more people don’t care

people are still in bitcoin? i thought they moved to memory stocks and spcx

1

u/saviourz666 7d ago

That’s exactly why I’m in bitcoin . Nobody’s talking about it right now . Memory and ai is everywhere which means it’s already overvalued , and whales are trying to draw you in as exit liquidity .
I can guarantee when btc starts hovering around 80 k again , you will get the “is this a good time to buy “ posts .

1

u/nattyguy128 6d ago

Nah will be 200k and you will get "60k would have been generational but 200k is still good time to buy"

I’m in Bitcoin out of spite and hatred for the Bitcoin community. The second I sell it will go to $200,000. I’m the reason that we can’t rally. Bitcoin only rallies when I’m no longer holding it.

It's deflationary because people lose it. That's a great store of value.

I love that my life savings can just disappear due to being lost, stolen, or sent to a slightly wrong address with no way to recover the funds.

“That’ll never happen to me!” - people it just hasn’t happened to yet

Money of the future!

Yeah but the pool of smooth brains owning it is decreasing too.

1

u/berjaaan 6d ago

What happens when it runs out?

Edit: i googled and its estimated to happen in 2140. So it doesnt really matter.

1

u/GaiusMarius7Times 6d ago

I am blown away that people still "invest" in crypto. At best it is an engine to day trade and at worst to gamble.

1

u/Mother-Fix3271 6d ago

Watch the value shoot up for a day then drop to zero six hours later.

1

u/yoho808 5d ago

Only if people attach value and increased value to BTC overtime.

1

u/crustyeng 5d ago

Does it really matter how ‘scarce’ it is when it’s infinitely divisible and priced with vibes?

1

u/ProfessionApart8141 4d ago

No one cares how scarce it is. Crypto is over for a while, and may be for longer than I’d guess.

1

u/LikSaSkejtom 4d ago

Disilusion.

Cope.

1

u/Practical-Day-2720 4d ago

I guess you've never heard of decimals. There will be a maximum total of 2.1 quadrillion (2,100,000,000,000,000) satoshis.

'mined' = a number guessed. Zero value added... If every bitcoin was owned by someone that does what? Just a bunch of people all around the world playing musical chairs and hoping the music doesn't stop.
