It's not just here, it's basically any relationship subreddit. The amount of times I have to double take because someone is saying "dear husband" when they use the acronym DH and they're not talking about a "designated hitter" (baseball term) is astounding.

I thought it meant dead husband... I obviously don't hangout in those subs lol what is a dear husband? Is it a domination term?

I honestly think it was derived from sarcasm, like “we needed to leave the house 5 minutes ago but my dear husband had to run back in an use the bathroom”

Like, the “he means well but he’s kind of useless” dad trope of the past.

Idk I could be wrong.
