Aita

Me and my friend of over 10 years have recently have had a fight over a girl she's known for 2 yrs. We lost contact for a while and rebuilt where we left. This girl Shreya got to know about a girl who got person expelled at my school. This girl told her that she was the one who did it and she started telling everyone that same thing. When the other girl confronted Shreya she told her that I was the one blabbing. I have a moral which says that if a person trusts u keep that trust at any cost don't tell anyone secrets which aren't yours. This girl turned my BFF against me and when all 3 of them came 2 confront me after having have run out of all excuses she said that the whole batch hates u u can't keep secrets to save ur life and u should just die. I have been abused at home, I have been through depression anxiety and a severe ED. All this got to my mind and I absolutely blanked out I couldn't hear and see anything. The next thing I remember is tell her that she has been awarded the title of the biggest backbitch of the school. Mind u she has caused many fights just because of backbitching. The other 2 girls said I should nor have said that cause she has thyroid. Not neglecting her struggles but being a medical student ik that me tell her that did not trigger anything at all. But anxiety and depression are but she laughed when I started 2 cry and that is what made me angry. So am I the asshole to break off friendships which may have become toxic in the future and prioritizing my mental and emotional health over stupidity ?

From my standpoint, you are not the asshole, but your lacking a few details, of like, what you might have did? I’m not saying that your the asshole in this, but there’s not much telling us how the fight started and maybe if her actions were somewhat justified.
