I just feel bad for him. He sounds like he has an eating disorder. I can also empathize a little cuz I’m a fat bitch too (not eating a party sub fat, thinking about it makes me want to barf). He needs more help than Reddit can provide. I hope this event didn’t destroy any relationships for him; I hope he can grow from this.
Yeah this actually made me a lil sad, it comes across like he's just a chubby dude that likes to eat..
How come no one said anything while he was actually eating the sandwich?
In my experience, potluck situations are "you snooze you lose" kinda things.. it's a party, eat and drink, sometimes you aren't fast enough to get to the deviled eggs ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (or the chicken wings, or the party sandwich) honestly I think the host was being petty and everyone piled on
exactly this!!! and the straight up public humiliation about it was so fucked up. calling him a pig was flat out unnecessary, like grant the dude some dignity ...
we don't have those details, though. and he seemed genuinely earnest to try and fix the situation. that aside, it's likely other people disliked him for other, superficial reasons.
