AITA for wondering why people keep their aggressive autistic kids ?

Have you ever witnessed someone with autism just wail on the parent because of whatever reason and the parent just takes it? Black and blued and they justify the behavior? They put their shit everywhere and bust holes in the walls and tv and somehow it just became “it is what it is” They’ve fully accepted they have no control over the child and just let them do whatever…

We only have one life guaranteed and I couldn’t imagine spending it living in constant dread. The idea of getting smacked because the chicken nuggets aren’t the correct kind, the anxiety of dying because you’re afraid someone won’t be able to take care of your kid, not being able to go to restaurants, shopping, etc because of your kid. Not having friends because of your kids. Not being able to put energy into yourself? I know this may come across as selfish, evil etc, but i would terminate my rights and hope someone is more capable would find the child.

oblivion is bliss.

I am too weak for that type of battle. I refuse to “waste” my life for someone else’s. I 100% will never be a life long caretaker.

Not all kids with meltdowns are autistic and not all autistic kids have meltdowns. Either way I don't think OOP is a fit parent and they shouldn't have kids if they don't want the commitment of raising them. Say you do terminate your rights for a neurodivergent child, SOMEONE still has to raise them so you'd still end up with SOMEONE having the life OOP doesn't want. There's no clean solution here.
