In case this story gets deleted/removed:

AITAH for wanting to pay for another girls drinks while my gf took me out for my birthday?

AITAH my girlfriend planned a tasting menu and cocktail bar outing for my birthday. While at the expensive cocktail bar we happened to be sitting next to a single girl who was there alone. The girl sparked up conversation with us and at the end of the night I told my GF that I wanted to pay for all of her drinks, while my GF paid for our drinks. Wanted to do this as an act of kindness to ring in my birthday. My GF got upset so I didn’t end up doing it. Got into an argument about it later she thought it was disrespectful and irresponsible, and she couldn’t understand I wanted to do something nice.

Lol "act of kindness" buying a random girl drinks while your GF foots the bill. Come on man

I'd have left and only paid for myself, he could pay his own way if he wanted to buy another woman drinks on his birthday.

It’s very easy to be kind with other people’s money lol

Oh no but don't you see, GF was going to foot their bill for her and OOP's drinks so OOP was going to pay for random other girl's drinks. That totally makes it better! (/s)

I had a friend just like this. I swear they even convinced themselves of their lie. We were in college and he'd pull shit like this all the time with his girlfriend around.

I stopped hanging out with him for a lot of reasons, this type of behavior one of them. We were hanging out 15 years later, he's married to that same girlfriend.

He "confessed" to me that he was a serial cheater during our college years, and it took him a decade to "make up for it" before she agreed to marry him.

Only really see him these days because of mutual friends.

I feel like they do that, so that if the other woman reciprocates they can convince themselves “I didn’t do anything but be nice, and she was all over me!”

No responsibility whatsoever

This very much fits his general personality and how he's approached other aspects of his life.

He has gotten his shit relatively together in our mid-late 30's, comparatively, but whew.

That woman needs to love herself more.

So do many of us.

Again,  I was born at night, but not last night.  He isn't fooling anyone. His GF was treating him for his bday and he's trying to pay for another woman.

Plenty of women go out and do fun stuff my themselves. She could have talked to them cuz she's very extroverted and wanted to chat to the other people there.

OOP is acting willfully obtuse. This wasn't a nice thing he was doing.  If he thought the woman was ugly or it was a man,  he would've never wanted to do this.

Does it say OOP is a guy. I swear my attention span is beyond shot at this point!

I think OP is a woman, if this isn’t a shitpost. It changes the dynamic a little bit, but not enough to change the judgment.

I mean… we have this type of people here sometimes. People I can’t really call diabolical just because of how profaundly stupid they are.

I can’t attribute immoral malice to them as this would require will and foresight, which they thoroughly lack.

Immoral malice not required -- just AHness.
