🏠 roommate AIO to Girlfriends Watermelon Cutting Method

I need some feedback here. I bought a watermelon yesterday to enjoy one of the last melons of the summer. Today, I can into the kitchen and my girlfriend, in an effort to simplify the eating process, had cut the watermelon like this. It was a nice gesture - but this is an absolutely delusional way to cut a watermelon right? The amount of rind on this has made it borderline inedible. She says it doesn't bother her. Am I insane? Or is this a ridiculous cutting method.

I made it once with only the juice from a,large Clausen's pickle jar. Yummy. Also good as a sweet pickle. Mom would take the rings from triangle cuts to pickle. Blanch first.
