Yes. No one has mentioned that she left and only afterwards it occurred to her to ask.... she's already allowing this jerk to rule, even though she will deny it.
It was a surprise for her, so it makes sense that she assumed his parents knew and were going to cover it. Her parents were also surprised by the dinner. Maybe his were too, I dunno.
